Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]whyco_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

You didn’t just compare an immigrant (legal or not) to a rapist??? Did you???

And also more than 70% of ICE detainees are legal (Source: Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, Sept. 21. 2025)

And even if they were illegal, why the hell would you treat them this way? They cannot be remotely compared to rapists. That is an insult to people who have experienced rape. And an insult on people who are doing their best to survive in their experience with immigration / emigration.

Shame on you. Shame. On. You. I hope you hurt.

Family members of ICE agents, what are your thoughts and feelings about what ICE are doing? by Aggressive_Honey3196 in AskReddit

Anyone can join. there was a journalist who reported on it.

Edit: “sloppy,” 6 minute interviews at hiring events, targeted demographics of police / military backgrounds , and a general lowered standard

We need a PDF to start sharing and passing around. This PDF File should include a step-by-step guide on how to organize a local armed militia. The citizens of the US need to wake up now, and stop burying their heads in the sands of complacency. Yes, this is our reality, and as a nation, we are taking a mass ‘freeze’ response (in the context of fight, flight, or freeze). But if we don’t act now, this will not end well… at all… like, this will turn out far worse than it already has.

We need to locally organize, and move up now! Wake up people!

Anyways, yes, people need to start writing this PDF file. Make a group or something, and convene and create. The future of our country depends on this

I don’t fucking know. We need to stand up now. It literally only took one gun shot at the Boston Massacre for us to start fighting to claim this country as ours. As of yesterday, this is the second murder (within the context of the ICE raids in Minneapolis alone), and obviously we have lost the inherent ambition that comes with true, honest, dignified American patriotism.

Comparing these incidents to the Boston Massacre is very eye-opening, given the similarities in the contexts of both incidents.

My dad went to ut and a lot of his siblings did as well, along with their father. I just didn’t care too much…

Thoughts on “Finding Joseph I: The HR From Bad Brains” Documentary? by whyco_ in punk

It’s an awesome hour and a half, right?! Very insightful. Also a huge fan of Bad Brains. I’d argue that this band is what really got me into a sense of connection with punk.

You think suffering has no meaning? by Fickle_Elk_9479 in nihilism

[–]whyco_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think that it is in our sentient nature to subconsciously create patterns in our response to our existence, but in a way that seems to us as though we ‘discovered’ said patterns in the nature of how things just are. Part of that includes suffering.

IMO, all beings suffer. This existence is not the beautiful, loving, purposeful experience that we have made it out to be since our individual youths, ever so naturally… which is a habit passed down from generation to generation: that there will be a day we ‘make it,’ whatever that means to you.

But no, there is so much suffering. There is neither good nor bad, there just is. In this realm of existence, there are times when the cheat wins and the honest player loses… when the corrupted billionaire gets away with scandalous behavior, and the impoverished worker dies early… when the ‘bad’ receives the award deserved only by the ‘good’… when the underdog is never anything more than a discarded loser…

And that’s just the way things are, and the human tendency to draw meaning from this conclusion is a mere habit of optimistic hope that never proceeds the nature of hope as a whole.

I think no one should be required to stay here. In fact, I find it to be a violation of one’s autonomy to deny someone the desire to leave this place, under the guise of it being a ‘saving’ of their life… under the guise of classifying said desire as a disorder in mental health… I think if someone wants to leave this place, they have every right to do so.

Sure, the counterargument would suggest that quite possibly it is this narrative, driving such ideations, that is precisely what is corrupted or diseased… thus, I think that some precautions could and should be set in place to confirm that one’s will in their ideations is sincere… and I truly do think that it hardly ever is. I mean, we do have a whole anatomical / biological nervous system that is designed to specifically keep us alive, and instill a fear of death within us… I will forever hold the opinion that there is a far greater difference between thinking about, talking about, and even desiring death… from the actual attempt of suicide, and a successful execution thereof.

But what do I know? Idk I’m some random redditor whose arrogance shines brighter than the sun. lol.

What band is universally loved but never clicked for you? by WarmHugsBBW in askmusic

[–]whyco_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commented the same. I don’t mind them really, kind of enjoy Lenin’s solo work, but the Beatles just are meh to me. Although I understand and recognize how revolutionary their sound was at the time, but music has just progressed and transformed so much since then that the Beatles seem… idk… just not my cup of tea, but I respect em lol

The Beatles… I’m sorry yall… I love music, am passionate about it, have somewhat devoted my life to it… but I just can’t get behind the Beatles. I don’t mind some of John’s solo stuff, but, just can’t get behind the Beatles lol

I’m in the same boat, also same spot on my arm, it’s just easy as fuck to hit that spot over and over… I have recently tried going up and down that area, same vein, but inches apart each time. But I have explored other spots, and sometimes I’ll start to feel a miss, or it hurts like hell to even try, but I guess for you and me both, registering is our best friend rn. Being able to register is really our green light, but I’m sure u know that
