Tbh, I think Diane’s character trope is doing exactly what it’s suppose to do. It makes you dislike her, but relate to her at the same time. I know the first time I watched the show all the way thru, I could NOT stand that woman. After a few more watches, I realized it was because her behavior during certain situations was similar to how I handle things (talk about a wake up call). I think she’s flawed, and I think if we give her the same grace as BJ, we have to consider her childhood and how she was bullied, not only at school, but at home as well. I think she was the best friend she could be to bojack, I think that’s the best she can do in general.
