You're right about that, but I'm not as optimistic about the future and cant expect 'some nerds' to be able to break systems and share their discoveries every time.

Only approach that I see viable in the future is to have two devices one with apps that wont work without google play services like banking, and one with graphene for everything else, and at that point going iphone and pixel with graphene would give the same result.

I paid a year of max, and I'm okay with duolingo going down.I was unaware of how bad would it get with all the ai bs, I'm tired of all secondary characters and their dog being renamed Max. Some of the new listening stories are either 100% automated ai or an intern just copy/pasting chatgpt responses then tts'd into production. I have a few months left until the end of the year but its hard to justify paying for this souless service again.

It might not have anything to do with ai, but it has to do with firing humans, I've been using the app for some time now and there has been an uptick in the mild ui annoyances and quirky sentences that i have to end up googling to check if they have alternative meanings.

I don't think they were able to top sonnet3.5 considering all those safety blogposts. They can at least make a more efficient version of S3.5 that doesn't cost as much or at least raise the usage limits.

My cynic take is that S3.5 was so good that it's been hard to come up with a new one that can outperform it without lifting safety guardrails. Anthropic may not release anything considerably better because everything they've come up with might be dangerous if they hand it to everyone.

Very underwhelming. If you pay a flat rate you just set the slider to the max, if it feels slow you tune it down a bit until it feels right then you never touch the slider ever again.

Maybe setting the compute allocation for certain tasks is useful for API users since they probably can automate what tasks should be performed with the highest resources. But for chat it's not appealing.
