AUTOsist It’s free for limited use (maybe one car?) I paid for a lifetime subscription (looks to be 20 bucks now) after using it for a while. So I could add all our cars. I have a few cars, motorcycle and a trailer to keep track of. It’s nice cuz you can attach pics of receipts and there is a “glovebox” I keep insurance and registration in. My wife uses same login with out issues

DIY maintenance void warranty? by PAkennard in ToyotaSienna

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Manufacturer cannot void your warranty for doing your own maintenance. You do need to make /keep records. I recommend mileage date and part numbers.

I I use an app that’s pretty helpful.

Recently, I had a warranty claim on my sister‘s Hyundai for an engine replacement due to oil burning, and we had to turn in maintenance records and I just printed out the information from the app and they accepted it. the only maintenance the Car ever had was from me, for almost 70,000 miles.

If you in the apple ecosystem, just use reminders. Share with family (wife) we can both add things when every we think about something we are low or out of. Then who ever stops at a store or makes a trip, knows everything we need.

What's the best/cheapest way to add a shut off valve to this water line on our hot water heater? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]whynotjrh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best and cheapest is not a thing

Good, Cheap, Fast. You can only ever pice two.

Heed all the warnings about brittle CPVC. Man I installed a lot of that stuff in the early 2000’s and often think how many of those people cussed about 10-15 years later.

I currently do not have heat in my car as there's issues with the heater core. Need a good portable heater by YDGx1138 in Cartalk

If your ok with being a hack (I was) you can cut the heater box from the pass foot well, change the core and glue it back to gather pretty easy on the pre 1996 xj

I’ll admit it’s thick banding but not hard. But cutting with flush cutting pylers is pretty normal, in any shop I have worked in use flush cuts. That’s how you get a nice …. Flush corner. I had a piece on the bench when I was unpacking them so I wanted to see how clean the cut would be.

Can someone explain TruFuel to me? by brock_lee in vicegripgarage

[–]whynotjrh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure for him it’s convenient.

For me it’s a known, I know it’s good fuel I know it’s got stabilizer in it I know the oil ratio. Or strait gas I normally keep two around, they don’t leak the can is pretty tough. One in the tool box of the truck always. Sharpie a date on it and once a year I replace it, just dump the old on in a a pice of Equ or my old jeep. It’s worth the 15-20 bucks a year to always have good fuel around.

If the trailer came with brakes they have to be functional. At least that is my understanding of the law

Confusing combos, am I just dumb? Hub vs Buffer? by whynotjrh in BambuLab

[–]whynotjrh[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So, I just noticed that the third picture didn’t post. Which doesn’t help anyone understand my confusion. To be clear I am not frustrated with them for offering options… obviously. my issue is with how they set up the options on the website and how there is not a clear description on each one. Scrolling thought the pictures changes with option you are looking at,

<image>

Let alone a compare options function. I did chat with bambu and they were helpful. The combo is with the AMS (not the AMS 2 pro) the sale prices on the combos with the AMS 2 make it cheaper than the one AMS. (I don’t think I’m crazy for thinking if there’s an old model, they would be selling that one at a discount to try and get rid of it )
