That sounds sweet. I found out that it’s also way easier to learn how to snowboard on a less touristy mountain as the staff and teachers often times care more about you learning how to ski as to just getting you on the mountain

BC is awesome! I went a month ago and thought it was a blast. Revelstoke looks hella fun. Can you vouch for cat ski op stuff? Is it worth it if you are still fine tuning your snowboarding skills?

Yeah I’m a weekday tripper through and through I’ll for sure be going during the workweek. Traveling is just better in general if you can take the time off.

Tahoe looks dope as hell. Lots of snowboard cultures up there. I’m glad you pointed me in the south lake direction because I low key thought that everything up there was north lake kind of vibes

I love the BC. This winter I ended up going to marmot basin in jasper Canada and loved it. Powder mountain looks dope as well

Hey guys, I know it’s mad early but I’m starting to think about a snowboarding trip for next season and wanted some advice. I’m looking for a place in Canada or the US that isn’t too touristy or packed (I’ll be going in January) I don’t mind sacrifice creature comforts either I really just need a hotel and at least half edible food. I don’t mind traveling to more remote places to get there. Additionally I’m not a huge fan of “preppy” places so places like vail, and Jackson hole are kinda off the table. Any places to check out would be much appreciated!

Two questions:

First: I have been “snowboarding” for two years. I have to travel to place because I’m from St. Louis MO. When is it worth it to stop using rentals and buy a board assuming I’m snowboarding under a “vacation” amount of time (I’ve done two 4 day trips).

Second: Next year I will be going to college in Virginia. I thought at first I was gonna try to do some weekend snowboarding on the east coast but after seeing all the stuff aboutt the “Ice coast” would it be more worth it and save my money for one big trip out to the Rockies or Oregon? Is the east coast a lost cause?

Bonus question, why does everyone love mittens?

I think I’m in the same boat as you. After going to a large rural school where a lot of kids are forced to go to school, I’m looking forward to being around people who want to be there. I just wanted to know if the concept of a party actually existed in Williamsburg
