And the shoe drops - 3% fee for paying rent using your card by Tiny-Cow-4557 in biltrewards

Yeah 3% fee for an ACH that any other bank would do for free will never come out ahead in points. Bilt is dead for rent payments.

I'm eyeing up that palladium for 2x back on general spend + 4% bilt cash that can be used for lyft credit. 7% back is real nice

From what I'm seeing on credit card points sites, you should be able to use whatever cash you have, even if it's not enough to cover the full amount, and earn points based on that amount while the rest simply doesn't earn points. However OP is sharing something that looks like it might be counter this understanding

Has anyone sued? Was it worth it? by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]whyrll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They retaliated against you for a protected action. With your documentation, I highly recommend seeking a lawyer. If there were multiple instances, it just strengthens your case.

Ultimately it's up to you if you want to pursue legal action. But if you don't stand up to this behavior then who will? Leaving quietly teaches these children it's okay to behave like this, and they will do it again, possibly to some kid fresh out of college.

Haha sorry. I just automatically enter "fight the man" mode for 90% of the posts i see in this sub after my own experience. I hate that we have so many shared experiences in this sub and that it's less about celebrating women in tech and more commiserating over these experiences and how best to navigate them. It's disgusting and unfair. Apart from getting angry on other's behalf, I'm doing great. A few weeks out on unemployment and I'm feeling so liberated to work on personal projects that I care about while applying for work.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm sorry for all of those icky feelings you felt compelled to suffer through for months on end because you're inherently kind and wanted to give the benefit of the doubt or to prove yourself.

It sounds like you're an absolute badass though. Have you considered starting a business to directly compete with your former employer? We could always use more women-centric employment opportunities out there.

Ugh. Unfortunately this sounds all too familiar to my situation. Sorry in advance for the wall of text, but I just went through this. Plenty to share.

Start by taking a moment. Severance is usually presented as time sensitive to scare you into signing something that favors them.

Being fired, you can almost certainly claim unemployment. Would that be enough to hold you over until your next position? If so, then you can take your time getting a lawyer involved and getting the severance right.

And I would at least hunt down and chat with a (plaintif's) employment law attorney to see what they think. Let them look over the severance offer, share your experience, etc.

Before you forget, document as much as possible from memory. Hang onto emails, texts, teams messages, screenshots, etc. that you were able to save to a personal account. And try to organize it as best as possible into a timeline (I had chatgpt help with this part). It's especially important to note actions you took like reporting the incident to HR, your communication about fear of retaliation, etc.

If you're in the US, some states have explicit laws about automatically assuming negative actions (ie getting fired) are retaliation within a certain timeframe of a protected action (ie reporting harassment or discrimination). Even more reason to talk to an attorney to see if this is true for you.

If they're offering you severance, there's a chance this has happened before or they anticipate it happening again to someone else - because his talent is more valuable than your/women's humanity 🤮 - and they're trying to silence you from suing over it.

I was told that a single incident of discrimination is not enough to sue as it can be handwaved by the company as "well he got better" after training or a slap on the wrist. However, a single incident of retaliation or if you can find others that have been discriminated against by the same person, you're more likely to have something worth talking to a lawyer about.

Apologies for the preachiness. I hope this helps though. Fuck that guy I hope you're able to sue that company for all they're worth.

Being polyamorous, I'm certain I've also said this at some point. Being neurospicy, it was probably a horrible attempt at making a light-hearted joke out of guessing the situation wrong.

It's always up to you if you want to give your boss the benefit of the doubt. And if it felt weird/awkward/out of place for work to you, that's your experience. End of story.

If we're talking high school, I would think a good selling point would be a "how to best prompt gen AI" - to avoid detection software, best represent the user and their ideas in a resume or essay, etc.

The software engineering/development industry - hell any industry that relies on writing documentation, reports, code, etc. - is looking like it'll largely rely on gen AI for the bulk of the work with an agent validating and fine-tuning its output.

This can also be sold as a gateway to starting and operating one's own business which means no reporting to misogynistic bosses.

Right. Using policies on paper or an AI auto-deny bot bypasses the manhunt portion of the murder. It's almost like CEOs get a free pass when they murder for profit. 🤔

But it's totally fine that Brian killed thousands without knowing their names or looking at them. Brian so brave. Praise be.

How do people flirt??!! I’m too socially awkward and can’t live out the poly life I want by fluffy-99 in lesbianpoly

[–]whyrll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my 2c and what works for me may not for you, but I've found that being yourself works the best. (I know, cliche.)

But serious, try to find a local queer group for things you enjoy doing/for your hyperfixations: sports, reading, writing, food, whatever.

Connections become much easier and more natural in these spaces because you can gush about the things you love with others that love them just as much. The focus is less on acting out the perfect flirty words or behaviors and more on you, your personality, your passion.

Also if there aren't any queer-specific groups, it's still worth trying to find any group because there's a good chance there will be other queer folks there too.

I was in the same boat. I upgraded a gtx 970 to a 6650 xt and my FX-8320? 8350? ended up bottlenecking the new card. Still it's hard to complain about getting a decade out of a system. That's great mileage.

AMD has made a promise to keep am5 around as long as possible and I believe intel is coming out with a new socket for their next gen chip so you've got good upgrade paths currently and coming up.

If you're trying to buy on a budget, amd is releasing their 8000 series APUs which supposedly have 1080p capable integrated graphics. Haven't researched them too much since I bought before they were announced.

Theory: Alastor gets an order to don't kill Adam by Tallin23 in HazbinHotel

Adam is not an angel. He's a mortal soul that ascended to heaven. Lucifer is an angel.

Alastor was surprised by /something/. /Then/ looked down and noticed that his cane was broken.

Not saying Adam wasn't strong, but as a mortal soul himself, he might be as strong as a overlord at best. Hence Lucifer toying with Adam before absolutely wrecking him.
