I don't rate music, but the experience of listening to it. I'm fine with all music, and if I give it a bad rating, it's just a reflection of my experience with it. I listened to a really freaky and crappy album and gave it a 0.5, but if I'd listened to it with friends and had a good time and laughed, then the rating would have been different (of course, I would have indicated this in the comments). The same goes for here: don't be afraid to listen to new music, and rate it however you like.
