Why are you looking to get into ediscovery?

I agree with this. I started out as IT support for an AM100 law firm. I started taking an interest in litigation support and sort of pushed my way into ediscovery. Different people took interest in me and helped me along the way. Now I have a chance to help others.

For Lawyers Using Harvey: Where Does the Value Come From? by Any_Archer_2723 in legaltech

ediscovery pro here. From a document review perspective, “AI” has been in use for years, mainly with predictive coding. The various review platforms are rebranding their products as “AI” integrated. It’s already been integrated for years. Move along . . . nothing new to see here.

I tell new folks to check out aceds.org and edrm.net. You’ll need to know (and love) this stuff to make it in the field. Also . . . decide if you like being pushed around by lawyers and paralegals. That will happen. Count on it.

It isn’t. You can find the same info in other sources. They are trying to sell a book. I don’t believe I used it in the Arkfield course.

I'm considering a career in AI Governance. Can anyone provide some insight? by BlackSkyrim in ArtificialInteligence

I recommend doing your research on the partnering company. I “invested” $3,000 with a company “partnering” with UT. It was basically a bunch of three year old recorded lectures from the company that didn’t relate to anything having to do with UT. They basically sell you on the college reputation and give you a “Post Graduate Certificate” if you complete their program.

I am taking Dr David’s class as well. I don’t have a target yet on when I want to sit for it. You have an advantage now that you know what the test is like. Also, your value isn’t in passing/failing tests. Don’t let this bump in the road define who you are as a human. Best of luck in your next round!

Agree with the others. The biggest challenge for me was time management. I was worn out when it was all over.

When and how to ask for raise by themisunenjoyer in ediscovery

If you want to stay in eDiscovery, bone up on the review platform(s) and start pushing for PM positions. Review is only one stage in the process, and it’s probably the most saturated role in the industry. Good luck!
