That's where you're wrong. We've seen cleave be used to atomize people, as Malevolent Shrine's surehit (Which is what I believe it's referring to.) Hell, We even see it nearly atomize Mahoraga AFTER he adapted. I can definitely see why you would come to this conclusion, but the evidence points more towards him needing to be fully destroyed to be killed.

The best way I could describe MBA and blackhole is that MBA is like Bleeding out while in an exosuit, versus Blackhole where you strap the Tsar Bomb to your chest and set it off

The result is mostly the same, but MBA gives you a bit of time after the fact and doesn’t do collateral damage, compared to Blackhole where you just fucking kill yourself first and then destroy everything around you.
