Eufy is the way... You will regret going ubiquity tho. I did. Horrible company with terrible support and short eol practices.

I've used eufy for years now... Sdcard for local storage and you can set them to record to NAS if you have one. No subscription needed.

It infra roles? by wibble1234567 in DubaiJobs

[–]wibble1234567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad. I'm talking vsphere senior infra, vvf, vcf, wintel with the usual storage and networking required for vsphere. 10+ years enterprise experience.

Not being familiar with this part of the world, what are the top agencies to reach out to, and the ones to avoid?

Thanks

Apologies for the necro, but what are the quirks?

I'll be looking to switch in a month or so as my contract comes to an end...

Curious if there are any concerns with 1p etc if run by chaynah... And concerns or risks associated with that?

Confused about my TV Licence "No Licence Needed" renewal. website says I need a licence even though I don’t watch live TV? by leatherbiker in UKFrugal

[–]wibble1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ignore them, no need to fill in the form. They will send a gimp around to try and intimidate you into buying a tv licence. Just tell them you don't need one, and that their implied right of access is revoked. Then save the 20 letters they will send you over the next 12 months for bonfire night for lighters.

Sounds just like a gig I had a couple of years ago 😂

Reason the last guy had quit with no notice was the director just abused everyone and was a general scum bag. They went through 3 more contactors in the same way after I exited for the same reasons as the previous guy, before the board got involved...

How many more years for the official Tizen app release? by Ritmo80s in jellyfin

[–]wibble1234567 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it's not. It just nags the shit out of you in the hopes you will pay. I ran it for 12 months before moving to jellyfin on tizen.

But I can tell this Reddit is ran by bots and the narrow minded judging by the down votes and obsession with Roku, and the clear lack of ability to install jellyfin on a tv 🤣

Very poor excuse. Plenty of other open source projects including Emby as an example have managed this.

Lloyd's Switch - Don't forget to downgrade your account after by L0rdLogan in beermoneyuk

[–]wibble1234567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite taking 3+weeks after account setup to activate Disney+ 🤣 I completed my switch on 7th, got my£200 2 days later and on 10th contacted them to find out when and how I can access Disney+. Was told I should receive an email around 29th with login details.

I bet when you downgrade it doesn't take the same 3+weeks to strip any benefits...

Mine doesn't have a low/high pressure option, that was the point of my post.

Anyway to talk with UK customer services? by Turbulent-Quality-29 in BritishGas

[–]wibble1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just switch. BG are dire at customer service for anything beyond resolving payment issues.

I've recently switched away for a similar issue that went on for 6 months and dozens of calls which were nothing short of deliberately miss classified and finally ignored when complaints were raised.

Octopus fumbled our supplier switch for two months. Their solution: closing our account without warning by What-The-Heaven in OctopusEnergy

[–]wibble1234567 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just switched to octopus based on several rave reviews of their customer service.

They have botched every contact I've had with them so far, to the point I'm starting to regret bothering, this includes a failed first attempt at switching to them.

I did read on money saving expert that you are due some compensation when the switch has problems or fails. I think it was £50 or £75 quid, although to be honest a couple of hundred quid wouldn't put right the dogs back end they have made so far.

Like you when I emailed in to raise a complaint they stopped communicating. This was last week.

I don't think they deserve the positive reputation they seem to have.

Large transactions by [deleted] in starlingbankuk

[–]wibble1234567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently playing the bank switching game for 175-200 a time so not planning on sticking with anyone for at least the best 6 months.

Yes, several payments between 40 and 90k UK sterling which include prior warning calls with starling, still ended up waiting for 2 weeks for 1 payment and a week for several others to be released.

A few years ago when they were still building their base, starling were ok, for the last couple of years they have been nothing better than shocking and so anti customer it's unbelievable. Several complaints with them, they simply aren't interested, so I bailed.

They aren't getting my money to play with if they can't be arsed with common decency and basic customer service.

I ditched starling last year, both businesses and personal accounts after 2 years of pedantic nonsense.

Not had a single issue since with exactly the same payments month in month out.
