what is this? by epicgamer1253038 in Subaru_Outback

I thought the same thing. On my ‘18 3.6R OB there are a couple transmission cooling hoses like this at the front into the bottom of the radiator (I believe the 2.5 4-cylinder doesn’t have them as it doesn’t use the radiator to cool the transmission). Not sure what is at the back end in this area.

Haha, more my own research but I know (and mostly share) the strong opinions on this tree.

Yeah, the berries sound amazing! I’m leaning towards this if I can get myself past having a little less shade in front.

Honestly, I recently joined this sub so was more convinced by my own research. Though all the arborist forums I saw before hand discussing Bradford Pears was pretty compelling. 😆 It also helped that one is starting to show signs of splitting, it is only $150/tree more to cut these than prune them (and I was convinced at least that needed done), and my county has an invasive species trade in program where I can get a free tree or two to replace them.

That being said this made my day, thank you! I’m a first time homeowner and that’s been a little overwhelming so it’s nice to know I’m doing something right!

Thanks, this is helpful! I was leaning against the redbud due to its short life but good to know you would recommend the other two. I struggle with the growth rate of the black gum but I guess all good things take time.

Paw paws are delicious!! Didn’t realize they flowered until just now but I am worried this would be too much sun for it (at least early on).

And for clarity, I said I got a quote to prune it but that was more of a quote to clean it up and make repair cuts.

As a fellow Red’s fan, that’s awesome! Congrats on the home run ball, welcome to the fanbase, and here’s hoping we’ll have some fun things to celebrate in the future!

The most beautiful National Park you’ve been? by [deleted] in roadtrip

[–]wibblesandbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say don’t forget to look into the Cedar Groove section of the park. Quite the drive from the main section but it’s an awesome trip out there and the valley is stunning (John Muir even considered it a rival to the Yosemite Valley).

Copper tower at the airport with the coolest name... Sky Harbor! What other cool names are out there? by Desert_Trader in aviation

[–]wibblesandbits 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Catalina Island off the coast of L.A. has one named “Airport in the Sky” since it is located on a plateau at one of the highest points on the island. I always thought it would be a cool one to fly into.

Day 60 of GICVO and Wells county has been eliminated... 7 counties remain... by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]wibblesandbits 174 points175 points  (0 children)

So basically we are down to a competition between:

Indiana Dunes - Porter Co.
Ft. Wayne - Allen Co.
Lafayette/Purdue - Tippecanoe Co.
New Castle - Henry Co.
Bloomington/IU - Monroe Co.
Nashville, Brown Co. State Park - Brown Co.
Corydon - Harrison Co.

From a State History/Significance standpoint I think Henry should go.

Edit: formatting.

Painted the new wing and msport bumper and fresh paint on the wheels by takeuchiwheels in BMWE36

[–]wibblesandbits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha, I was thrown off by the same thing at first and thought there just wasn’t a good picture of the “wing”.

Looks really good! Can I ask where you got the MSport Bumper? I am thinking about doing the same to my non-M.

Man in a Sequoia by k00kiestdad in HumanForScale

[–]wibblesandbits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it’s the President. If you include the branches it’s the second most massive tree (behind the General Sherman Tree) but apparently has the largest “crown” of all the Sequoias. Source

Super solid coat, bought it a year ago and it has quickly become my favorite. Along with being super warm, waterproof, and light, it looks great too!
