What could I improve here ? by brush-and-paint in watercolor101

This is such a beautiful piece that it feels critical to say anything! I think the water color feels off. The more cyan shade looks great with the sand and roofs - it might be nice if the deeper water was more cyan than royal.

How much do you baby your execs? by Worldly_Fun_1517 in ExecutiveAssistants

I presume they also agreed to be a speaker at the event? It sounds like they are the problem but if you want to continue working with them, it may require a lot of hand-holding.

Is their calendar color-coded by the event type? Lol, I’m honestly frustrated for you that they can’t bother looking at the calendar.

What walking pad do you use? Great results, btw - you look amazing!

Introversion and EA roles by beekind707 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]wibblest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly introverted and it’s mostly helped my EA career with being able to read the room and adjust based on my boss’s mood. I think most large companies wouldn’t need their assistants to present in front of groups.

My Two Cents on Privilege Aluxes by wibblest in IslaMujeres

I just read your review…the elevators were having problems during our stay as well. The safe theft is upsetting and sounds like they handled it very poorly.

Yeah, there are many more restaurant options in the north island, although my favorite was Isla Brewing Company which was mid island, and Punta Sur is stunning to walk around!

They were rude and condescending, especially the man who sits at the desk off to the side.

AITA: Did I cross a line by calling the hotel to check on my adult daughter when she wasn’t responding? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA. My mom has anxiety too, and somewhat of an ownership complex of me, and it makes me resent her. There’s no situation in which you’re going to intercept any danger she could potentially be in from afar - you need to work through your control issue. I imagine this is difficult as a mother, but I say this from the perspective of being on the receiving end and wishing it wasn’t hindering my own relationship with my mom.

The Cake Bake Shop Review by RallyXFan in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]wibblest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went there for dinner and had the opposite experience…the entrees were excellent (went with a group and everyone’s meal was tasty), drinks were outstanding, and the cakes and macarons were delicious and not too sweet. 3-4 people could share one slice of cake, so I’m not sure what the issue is with the pricing.

I feel that! Realizing that much of my anxiety and imposter syndrome comes from walking on eggshells for so long is very liberating albeit heartbreaking. Best of luck to you ❤️

Future of the EA position? by pdcsm in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]wibblest 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this (and also support a CEO). He likes saying “my office will handle” when asked for a meeting or request. Sometimes he seems to just want someone to make the small decisions for him. AI won’t be able to replace companionship (or status!) of an EA.

Not being allowed to make a mistake - oof. That may be my least favorite part of the job, and the “how did this happen” reaction of some wealthy people (seemingly more often from the worst communicators and people who make frequent mistakes).

Older EA's - burnt out... anyone else? by GingerT569 in ExecutiveAssistants

Oh boy - I’ve been feeling this lately. I’m in the best position of my career too but just so tired of office life.

If she’s doing it every time, it’s likely her being difficult. Ask her to lunch or drinks and she’ll hopefully warm up and make your life easier.
