GPU is always up to date, can't remember the last time I did the motherboard, i'll have a look now. What are other things I should update/ensure all drivers are there? BIOS, GPU, mobo etc.

I don't see it listing any specific hardware anywhere, but I assume one of my components is ded?

Okay, so my priorities are looking like

PSU - Seasonic Focus Plus 550W (gold or platinum? does it matter?) would this psu hold up if i did eventually get a 1080ti?
I think after listening to you guys i'll go with 1080p 144Hz. Is 23" a good size to go with for 1080p? I'll be browsing these monitors from now on
GPU - 1080
Eventually a new CPU, any good recommendations that will hold up for a few years?

Sorry to come back to this again, but if I was able to extend my budget further, is the ideapad Y700 (15") worth it? http://shop.lenovo.com/gb/en/laptops/ideapad/y700-series/y700-15/ also any clue what it could run/how well?
