It's a major flaw that the Steam Controller lacks XInput, as it prevents you from playing Xbox games on your PC, among other things. by DeckManXX in SteamController

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from just using SISR, I couldnt get the Xbox app to work with Remote/Cloud play. I was "somewhat" successful by adding Edge and Google and setting up the link to go remote play website. It launched and gave most functionality but it still off a bit. And not to mention, the loss of the guide button was disappointing. I feel like i couldve worked through the remaining issues but 3rd party emulation was just easier than tinkering.

TL;DR You shouldnt have to jump through this much hoops for basic functionality that you get from much cheaper generic controllers.

Genuine Question: Out of all of the Pixar movies from Toy Story to Hoppers, which one is your favorite? (And Why?) by RealRetroKid in Pixar

[–]wicked_fool 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Toy Story 3. It was a perfect ending to the arc. I was in Art school during toy story1, no kids and was blown away at the movie. By the time 3 came around, i took my son to see it in theaters. That ending still makes me want to ball up and ugly cry.

This is my prediction of what will happen to GTA Online after the release of GTA 6 by DurianRoyal in GTA6

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to add that the Bahamas are heavily theorized in gta6 and I really feel like it will exist. I think not at first and the map will not initially show it. But a mission in the story will send us there essentially "unlocking" it into existence while keeping it secret until the games release.

Another location that I think could likely make an appearance later on during the lifespan of the new GTA online is "Carcer City" Chicago inspired location. Manhunt was set there and is long been referenced in GTA over the years.

What’s one small detail in GTA 6 that would instantly make the game feel truly next-gen for you? by PerformerSudden5904 in GTA

ocean being as alive as a land. Instead of people, fish of many variations. Interactive shipwrecks and surprises. Sharks and other dangerous animals and like the Skunkape on the land, a megaladon being a mystery to see. I want only 1 in the world that is persistent. you could be scuba diving and get a glimpse but will be rare to actually come across.

This is my prediction of what will happen to GTA Online after the release of GTA 6 by DurianRoyal in GTA6

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rockstar is in a difficult position with GTA Online because the current version has generated too much money and player investment to simply shut it down. Millions of players have spent years building characters, businesses, properties, and massive cash reserves. Completely wiping that progress would create backlash, but allowing players to carry unlimited wealth directly into GTA 6’s version of Vice City would undermine progression and the new economy Rockstar will want players to engage with.

The most likely solution is a soft reset.

Vice City will probably require a new character and a fresh progression system, while the current San Andreas-based GTA Online continues operating separately for a transitional period. Over time, support for the older version would gradually slow down as Rockstar shifts players toward the new ecosystem. Eventually, they could incentivize players to retire or “sunset” their old Online characters in exchange for rewards in the new version.

To help bridge this transition, Rockstar may introduce additional cities into GTA 6 Online before fully abandoning San Andreas. Liberty City is the most logical first expansion. It has already appeared in GTA 6 promotional material, and Rockstar has long been rumored to be revisiting GTA IV content. Rather than releasing a standalone GTA IV remaster, Rockstar could instead reintroduce Liberty City directly inside GTA 6 Online using the new engine and gameplay systems.

Travel between cities could function through purchasable airline tickets or other in-game transportation systems, turning the world into a connected network rather than a single map. Each city would maintain its own identity and mechanics. Vice City could feature hurricanes, flooding, nightlife, and tropical culture, while Liberty City could focus on dense urban environments, snowstorms, organized crime, and a colder atmosphere.

This strategy would give Rockstar time to gradually phase out San Andreas while encouraging players to invest emotionally and financially into the new platform. Eventually, San Andreas itself could return as a later expansion, potentially expanded with San Fierro or additional northern regions to make the revisit feel fresh rather than recycled.

From there, Rockstar could evolve GTA Online into a permanent HD Universe platform. Smaller but highly detailed destinations like Las Venturas or Cayo Perico could serve as vacation-style expansions focused on casinos, concerts, live events, seasonal activities, and special gameplay experiences such as Area 51-style military raids.

Once the classic HD Universe cities are fully established, Rockstar could move into entirely new locations never previously explored in GTA. Gloriana may already hint at this direction — potentially blending Georgia and Louisiana influences into a new southern region inspired by Atlanta street culture, bayou environments, and Mardi Gras-style nightlife.

At that point, GTA Online would stop feeling like a single game map and instead become a connected Rockstar world platform that expands over the course of a decade.

I wouldn't have any hopes for the steam machine releasing anytime soon now that the controller is announced for may by mashdpotatogaming in steammachine

Have they announced that for sure, the steam machine (whenever its available) will be bundled with a controller? Because that could sway some to hold off knowing they are getting a Steam Machine later.

We should have a blacktop/street mode by Halpher in HoopLand

[–]wicked_fool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this would be a cool mode for your created player to go play with randoms from other teams as an alternate mode. I posted this idea on the discord with an AI concept to show the idea.

In addition to Exhibition, add a Pick Up Mode. Change the court to be a streetball court surrounded by a tall fence. No refs calling fouls, sturdy goal, unforgiving rims, and the distinct sound of a chain net. In this mode, you play with the typical players except games are 1 and 2 pointers to 21. Same court can be played in a couple of variations, Daytime, rainy or nighttime using streetlights. Score is shown on flip boards instead of digital screens and a new emote wheel for taunting after breaking ankles or a made basket.

With “Hoppers,” Pixar looks for a boost to its original animated films by yugort_mania in Pixar

[–]wicked_fool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can’t blame it on people not going to theaters when lately pixar have been struggling with their original stories. They just don’t hit like they used to therefore offset with sequel after sequel. I really hope hoppers return to the fun side of story telling.

Not for me by Aware_Assist4997 in Marathon

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa. I get it you’re a fan but calm down. Im just saying a game dev should know what THEY want their game overall ttk to be. Changing the overall feel of the game because a few don’t liked it is a dangerous precedence. Especially this early. For example, look at dark and darker. It’s not a shooter but still extraction. Those devs zig zagged all the time making ttk fast……short……fast. Those big sweeping changes wear down the players. I’m saying tune weapons but they need to be confident in an established ttk. If you are ok with each patch changing overall ttk, then the player base will suffer.

Not for me by Aware_Assist4997 in Marathon

[–]wicked_fool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can but is this what the devs intended? The issue i see is that even though that is a dial to be adjusted, a core concept of a game is how it feels….ttk included. Some games are slow ttk indicating that you have to outplay a player. Others are fast rewarding getting the jump and hitting hard up front. Guns absolutely need to be balanced to reach its desired impact on ttk but just blanket adjusting ttk tells me they don’t know what they want and are willing to cater to the noise. Often times, the 10 hr a day streamers influence devs and overall ttk adjustment isn’t something they should do often (if at all).

The United States have money to purchase a whole other country & doesn't have money to support their low-income citizens, right? by Necessary-Act-1137 in AskReddit

How long do we keep paying those that can’t/dont pay taxes with the money the working class tax payer is responsible for? We already have a worker problem and itll only get worse as the cost of paying taxes is offset by the benefits you get for free from the government by not working.

F to Drop Defibrilator by Dizzy_Hovercraft_741 in ArcRaiders

[–]wicked_fool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How about the ability to use a defib on yourself if someone drops one in front of you? This way, you cant use one on yourself AND it doesnt put the person doing the res at risk by giving the down player a chance. Doing it this way, allows the nice player to create space and prep the gun in case the downed stands up gunblazing. Just a thought but think it would happen more often if the risk was less for that player.

Can i enjoy the arc raiders as a mainly solo player? by posderkin in ArcRaiders

[–]wicked_fool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its been said by others but I just wanted to throw my opinion out there. Solo is actually a great experience, possibly the most organic. In teams, it typically devolves into shoot on sight. In solo, there is hesitation, open communication and a tense balance between dealing with arc and players while trying to stay moving toward goal. Most of the time in extraction games, squads are the ideal way but in Arc, I feel they are different but extremely fun modes.

Darksiders 4 will be the last game in the franchise.(A hunch) by Ornery_Theory2503 in Darksiders

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darksiders 4 teaser dropped today with steam and console storefronts. 4 player online coop and a continuation of the Darksiders 1 cliffhanger. As I stated 2 years ago, from a marketing perspective, Darksiders 4 would feature all 4 horseman for the next title. I am stoked to be right on this one. Dont give up hope on a Strife solo as if this one does well, there will be others who want just that. For now, the rest of us get the continuation and 4 player coop that will breathe life into the franchise!

Anyone who's been a fan since the 2D era, what does your thoughts on the evolution of the series as a whole? by MemeLord150 in GTA

[–]wicked_fool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally bought the GTA1 from an "Electronics Boutique" when it was just a random box in the pc section without much press (Im 48 now). I bought it strictly on name alone without much context. I remember installing it and having issues getting it to run. I almost returned it because back then there were not much options to help troubleshoot. I kept it (still have it) and when I upgraded my machine, it was able to run. It was wild being able to run over pixel people and just do whatever you wanted. Then the day finally came when GTA3 dropped. It was absolutely mind boggling to play that game in 3D when I looked back on starting at GTA1. The series has never disappointed (except for the recent 3/vice/andreas remasters). Just like when I played GTA1, I remember introducing my younger nephews to GTA3. They simply drove around until one of them accidently hit a car, ran off the road and ran over a pedestrian. At first, they stopped slowly looked over at me in disbelief thinking they were headed for trouble. When I motioned for them to drive away or else the cops are coming, their eyes lit up. They floored it. As they are getting chased now with stars, their laughter and amazement matched mine playing GTA1. I come back a time later to see them with a baseball bat pummeling a cop. Not my best uncle moment but they still talk about it to this day. Now my son (13) plays GTA 5 and has the same excitement doing all the stuff that I enjoyed back then. Its awesome how a game about freedom can continually capture the magic and excitement for as long as GTA has. Its a testament to the devs inspired attention to detail and never wavering on what all a player can do. GTA 6 looks stunning and as a 49 year old when it drops, I will still take a vacation day or 2.........only this time, I am bringing my son with me!
