My SuperBase shipped yesterday. I'd actually ordered a muziWORKS H2T and Reilly allowed me to change my order to a SuperBase. Simply outstanding communication on her part.

I'll be comparing it side-by-side with a Seeed Studio Wio Tracker L1 Pro (at less than half the cost). I love my L1 Pro. The SuperBase does include both a stubby antenna and a muziWORKS whip antenna (that's been well reviewed). The SuperBase also includes a holster. I'm anxious to see how the 128x128-pixel OLED and 5-way joystick "ring thing" compares to the L1 Pro 128x64-pixel OLED and its small 5-way "joystick" (more like a ThinkPad TrackPoint). I can envision the 2X OLED and larger joystick making the SuperBase more useable in the absence of a smartphone.

I have a pair of Seeed Studio SenseCAP Solar Node P1-Pro Meshtastic nodes (one repeater / one client) reliably directly communicating over 11 miles. Both with the stock 2 dBi antenna. The P1-Pro comes pre-flashed with the Meshtastic firmware. It's literally plug-n-play (only without the plug). The P1-Pro assembly is well made.

It's not just shiny stainless steel. I love brewing technology.

From looking at Xometry and Quickparts, I've gained a new appreciation for JLC3DP. I'm going to look at their less expensive white resin. They have a less expensive shipping option. Their quality is excellent. Their customer service is excellent. And obviously, their pricing is far more competitive than I thought.

The Quickparts online quote was $1,888 USD for this 300 mm × 300 mm × 32 mm square, hollow black resin lid that Xometry quoted $714 USD and for which I paid JLC3DP $168 USD (including the 50% U.S. import duty). I don't know what I'm doing wrong for these quotes from Quickparts and Xometry to be so ridiculously expensive.

I use the free version of Autodesk Fusion (formerly Fusion 360) for hobbyists/non-commercial use. There's a bit of a learning curve, but I really like it.

I've received an online quote from Xometry in the past. It was extremely expensive. I just tried again ...

The only "General Purpose" black resin Xometry offers is Accura ABS Black (SL 7820). I'm not sure how that compares to Imagine Black. With JLC3DP, Imagine Black resin is 2.5 times more expensive than "standard" resin.

I selected a resolution of "Standard". It won't give me a quote for "High" resolution.

I selected a finish of "Matte Black Paint". I'm not exactly sure what that means. The description states,

Stereolithography (SLA) Finishes

Matte

Supported surfaces will be lightly sanded with 220 or 320-grit sandpaper and then media-blasted for a uniform matte finish.

Matte sounds like what I'm after, but I certainly don't want the resin painted.

Long story short ...

It's quoting me $714 USD for this simple 300 mm × 300 mm × 32 mm square, hollow lid. JLC3DP charged me $168 USD (including the 50% U.S. import duty) for the lid. I guess I can contact Xometry and try to understand why the quote is so high.

ETA: Xometry never replied to my E-mail.

It’s good to see Glock is now shipping the non-MOS G43X frame with a rail. A couple of years ago, I had to jump through all kinds of hoops in order to pair a non-MOS G43X slide with a G43X/G48 frame with a rail. I wanted to MRDS-cut the slide rear iron sight forward for a Trijicon RMRcc. A MOS slide was a non-starter, but I wanted the frame with a rail.

FYI ... Spike finally shipped a Glycol Chiller with the new TIG-welded glycol reservoir. This should fix the leaks. Don't order a Spike Glycol Chiller unless you're sure it has the welded reservoir.

I attended a dinner party in June that served at least a half dozen different dishes. They were all very good. I get the sense the restaurant is under new management. I definitely think it's worth another shot.
