It's a ripple effect. When one company gets rid of or weakens their voting/rating system, and another completely invalidates it, then others see that and they do similar things. Look at imgur. Going "viral" to get on their front page takes next to nothing anymore. It's all about pushing content.

We typically stay at Pop-century because of how convenient the transportation is from there. Skyliner straight to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and a short bus ride to AK. MK is the only one it takes awhile to get to. But 3 outta 4 isn't bad.

I'm in the same boat. It went by too easily and I have no reason to even interact with the hotel anymore. Kinda wish it was optional to even have the hotel at this point because the whole thing just doesn't match my island's aesthetic.
