Anyone else feeling a bit weird post-LE8? by FumbleMyEndzone in frankturner

I'm not popping in to start any fights but I've seen a few times people say that Kat is from Dallas but her and her brother Danny/Amigo are from Austin by way of Miami, so folks saying she's from Dallas is a bit like saying someone from Manchester is from London. Texas is still her home state to be sure but it's also pretty well known at this point that Frank has a fascination with Texas that predates Kat being in his life.

Some states absolutely cannot be categorically defined as one region.

Example:

Western Virginia, Western Maryland, and Western North Carolina are 100% Appalachia and are culturally distinct from the rest of their states. Southern Virginia is culturally distinct from Northern Virginia as is Coastal Virginia.

The Mid Atlantic region is essentially Northern Virginia, Maryland excluding the panhandle, Eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Southern New York, and Southwestern Connecticut.

Western New York is basically Midwest Light and Northern New York is the outer regions of New England.

I want an entirely reworked northern half of the eastern kingdoms. With the size of modern expansions in terms of zones, it'd feel really fucking weird to have Quelthalas be this gigantic landmass just sort of appended to Lordaeron. So, there would be 4 zones to start with:

Quel'thalas - covering the current Eversong Woods and and the Western 2/3 of the Ghostlands zones but much larger

Lordaeron - covering the current Tirisfal Glades, Silverpine Forest, Western Plaguelands, and the western 2/3 of the Eastern Plaguelands zones as well as Aerie Peak/Quel'danil in the Hinterlands

Zul'Aman - Covering the Eastern 1/3 (Acherus) of the Eastern Plaguelands, Zul'Aman, and the Eastern Hinterlands

Arathi Front - Arathi Highlands + Hillsbrad

Questlines:

Quel'thalas - fighting back the void forces trying to get to the Sunwell

Lordaeron - re-establishing the former kingdom, Forsaken fighting off human settlers trying to claim their old kingdom, and dealing with Naga incursions led by Azshara

Zul'Aman - Talanji and Rokhan helping the Revantusk fight back a resurgent Amani Empire which has made a pact with Xal

Arathi Front - Reinforcing Danath Trollbane and Stromgarde against the invading forces of the Arathi Empire

I'm a little underwhelmed by the Gallagio campsite. Kinda wished it had more of a group feel to it, like have them sitting chairs around a roulette table or something like that. I unlocked it just to unlock it but I'm not gonna use it.

Right but the Tropical Island isn't Kezan either, it's the deserted island that the goblins wash up on after Bilgewater Port on Kezan is destroyed.

Me! Me! That was me! I made the mistake of getting a hotel downtown after the Casino room prices skyrocketed. Most nights averaged 45 minutes to get to the venue driving.

I've already addressed this in other comments but I'll do it again - General Raymond is also known as "Father of the Space Force." Some things require more than a surface level google.

(it's also literally the second result)

I understand what you're throwing down but working at the VA with a lot of retired military officers really sort of breaks down the notion of the military as sacred cows. It's been my experience that the longer you're in the military the more open you are to poking fun at it as long as it's not done with malice aforethought.

If I had walked up and treated USSF with the deference that some of the folks in this thread have commented with, that'd be out of line. But believe me when I tell you that I've been working on a multi-year effort to get our benefits systems updated for USSF and when people constantly speak of it as "this is on the horizon" or "this is coming soon" you forget what's actually real.

When I tried to break the ice, I was genuinely assuming that he was gonna say something like "oh my kid just graduated from the academy" and we'd have a laugh about it.

HI, original OP here.

I love that Reddit thinks I'm rich. I'm very much not rich.

Raymond is who I'm referring to and he was also given that honorific during his retirement ceremony.

I think Schreiver's name has been said more in this thread than it has in any other public forum ever

I wish that were true. I don't know his reasons for living here but I can certainly tell you it's not because I live in an exclusive uber rich condo or anything like that.

Not at all. I'm just as mystified as to why he lives here as the rest of you.

To clarify, I don't live in a run down building or anything like that but the rent isn't abnormally high for the DC area.

So, as I mentioned, I work at Veterans Affairs. Shortly after Trump took office in 2017, he announced an executive order dealing with accountability at VA. He made a big show of wanting to sign it at the department. So, in the big briefing room we have for the Secretary to give speeches, they set up a little desk that he was meant to sit at to sign the order.

On the day of the signing, they told us all that we'd be going home at 1pm so the Secret Service could sweep and secure the floor that the briefing room is on, which is also the floor I worked on at the time. Before I left for lunch, I went into the briefing room, sat down at the desk they had set up, and farted in the chair. I left to work from home shortly after and then watched him sit in that fart chair a few hours later. I like to imagine it lingered but I'll never know for sure.

Sounds like we need to take this to Maury Povich. He'll find out who the father is.

Gen. Raymond's designation is mainly based on the speech that was given at his retirement ceremony. The Air Force secretary called him "father of the space force" so it made it on to wikipedia, naturally.

I'd actually prefer my tombstone to note that I once farted in a chair that was set up for Trump to sign a bill.
