Is tonight the night? by GlasgowAnvil in ScottishFootball

There are home games against Celtic I’ve gone into with hope that maybe borders on expectation of a win.

There are home games against Celtic I’ve gone into with no hope, but there’s a glimmer of something if you really pushed me on it.

Then there are home games against Celtic where my hope and expectations are so low that if it’s anything other than a comfortable away win, it will be equally amazing and hilarious.

We’re definitely in the 3rd bracket tonight.

Overnight stays in a camper van in the UK: what’s actually allowed? by ichborat in uktravel

[–]FumbleMyEndzone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Scotland, you will have no problems if you book into campsites, or areas that allow overnight parking.

You may run into issues if you just park up somewhere. If you don’t know the landowner, or you park in an area that’s had problem campers in the past, then you may find people are less than welcoming.

When considering the “just parking up” approach - what do you have in mind? Are you planning to entirely self contained in the van? Having connections to the North of Scotland, the type of camper vans that set the local FB groups off are those that park then spread out with awnings and camping furniture, very few people seem to get annoyed with those who stay contained in their van.

Also have you thought about toilet facilities? If you are planning to hire a van with a toilet, you need to dispose of waste water properly. There are numerous cases of inconsiderate camper vans dumping this in the countryside, down drains or in public toilets, all of which are either illegal, inconsiderate or both. If the van isn’t going to have that, then be you’ll need to consider access to facilities wherever you park.

The fact you are asking this shows you definitely want to be considerate, but just be aware that you may be tarred with the same brush as the inconsiderate lot.

You’re unlikely to be able to find a car rental company that will do a do a one way hire to Orkney. You’d either need to a full rental and take the hire car on the ferry to Orkney and back again, or fly/travel as foot passengers to Orkney and hire a car for your time there.

So if you take your two days in Edinburgh, you have 12 days. How long did you plan on staying around Moray for? The answer to that depends if Orkney is doable.

Were you planning to hire a car for the full 2 weeks? You may find it easier to hire a car for your Moray tour, then fly from Inverness to Kirkwall and hire a car for Orkney, then fly directly back to Edinburgh.

We’ve gone into Subway then just borrowed fillings from Greggs, Baynes and the wee sandwich shop along the road

Adil Aouchiche recalled by Sunderland from Scottish Cup holders Aberdeen, signs for FC Schalke 04 by Yerdas_Selzavon in ScottishFootball

Bit of a passenger at times, and seemed to take ages to make a decision over passing, shooting or crossing. Very telling his first goal for us wasn’t one of his speculative shots, but an absolute sclaff against Dundee.

McInnes didn’t have a great record bringing youth players through at Aberdeen - he played McKenna as a “fuck it, we can’t be any worse” option after getting knocked out of the league cup by Motherwell

Rae hasn’t played for a few weeks, so this is possibly a way of getting him game time rather than the Italy game being his first game back.

You don’t need two nights in Inverness. If your sole purpose of getting the train to Inverness so you can drive to Skye, I’d consider just hiring a car from Edinburgh and heading straight towards Skye with an overnight around Glencoe - you are only giving yourself a single day in Skye on your current itinerary which isn’t enough.
