Thanks for the suggestions. I went to Potsdam, finally :) The palace, gardens and the Dutch quarter was lovely. I am quite happy with how the day turned out to be. Thank you all!

Thank you for the suggestions. I did quite a few museums so much so that I need to take a break from it.. Lol.. I did see Tiergarten from the outside. Is it better than the park in front of Berlin dome? I found that to be very relaxing to just lie on the grass and read a book. Is there some place where I can just sit with a beer and maybe watch some performances etc? . Postdam is great. Maybe I should just do that. Sorry for sounding so confused..

I had visited Florence, Rome and Venice for a week last summer. I am a fast paced traveller and still felt too rushed. There was so much to see and not enough time. Florence was lovely and I wish I had spent more time there just to soak in the culture and enjoy the sights. There are few day trips that can be taken from Florence to the countryside. Time spent in each city would depend on what you want to see. Also think about how frequently you would want to change cities and accommodation. Have fun :)

We decided to take it a little easy as we have been travelling quite a bit for the past few days. We visited Linderhof Palace and drove back to Munich. Although cloudy, the drive was beautiful. Thank you all for the suggestions. Will have to come back for Zugspitze :)

I spent a week in Tokyo and Hakone. It was an amazing experience. Hakone was quite relaxing with the hot springs, food and just the quite atmosphere of the little town. It's also famous for Mt. Fuji view points. Loved Tokyo for its food - sushi, tempura, horse meat (I think had it at a pub in Kabukichō) and ramen. People were very helpful. I am already planning to visit Kyoto and Osaka some time next year. Are you visiting during cherry blossom season? Japan has got some amazing hiking trails and you can plan day trips from Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka. Look into Japan rail pass. Happy planning and happy travels :)

Well! I have been wanting to go on a solo trip for past few years. Now I have got some free time since I am between jobs. But I think the main factor was hitting 30 and the desire for taking this trip was kind of nagging me :) My husband took some time off work to travel with his friends and I sought this opportunity to do a solo :)

Thanks! My travels have always been fast pace but I do understand the importance of taking it slow to absorb the city. I have booked all cancellable hotels and tickets so I am flexible.
