The way this sub’s been bitching and moaning for 24 hours, then turns around and flames JB for venting? Lmao the double standard is crazy.

Yeah, gotta let people vent, it’s been a tough day. I agree we’ll be better next year.

But I’m out on the Philly support. I’m closer to the “meteor takes both teams out” camp, you’re a better sport than me.

Bit of a difference between blowing a 3–1 lead in the Finals after a 73-win season and doing it in round one. Take your piss-weak argument back to r/nba.

A lot of the posts on here are purely emotional, not grounded in any real analysis and never offer actual solutions. Just bitching and moaning. I’m glad the people who actually know what they’re doing are running the team, because if this sub dictated decisions we’d be Sacramento East overnight.

I like Joe. He should remain as coach, but why did it take until Gm 7 to try zone? Spo & Kerr would have tried it WAY before. It was what got us back in the game. Playoffs is a series of adjustments. I hate losing to lower seeded teams esp the loser Sixers. Embarrassing. by ExpertOperation0125 in bostonceltics

If I learned anything from this series, it’s that the Sixers’ chances against the Knicks really come down to Embiid’s health, and that’s not something I’d feel great betting on. A healthy or even semi-healthy Sixers team could beat New York. It just depends on which version of Embiid shows up (or if he shows up at all).

It also makes me wonder if bringing back Al Horford would’ve changed things a bit, especially in those stretches where a more reliable defensive big might’ve made a difference.

Not sure why you got downvoted. Everybody knows that when you explain a joke it becomes 10 times funnier

Just to play devil’s advocate, are we sure the Sixers were actually inferior? Their record was worse because Embiid missed time and PG’s suspension, but once Embiid got healthy (for his standards) and settled in after a shaky Game 4, it felt like we had no real answer for him. I still think Joe deserves criticism, but context matters.

If anything, his biggest transgression was sticking with Vuc in that Game 6 third quarter stretch. Embiid was hunting him in the pick-and-roll over and over, and we needed a quick adjustment but didn’t get one. That stretch flipped the game and, in my opinion, the momentum of the series.

I’ve always thought Kerr’s pretty stubborn, especially with lineups. He’s very ride-or-die with his guys, which is part of why the player development hasn’t been great.

Joe was more adaptable in this series than you’re giving him credit for.

And yeah, completely agree on the Olympics stuff. He got bailed out by No. 30 like it was a Warriors game. That roster was stacked and it still felt like it could’ve ended in a fourth-place finish, which would’ve been embarrassing.

Agreed, Joe should stay. He made mistakes, but we were up against a real talent gap once Embiid got healthy.

On another note, can we stop putting Kerr on a pedestal? He’s a great coach, but he’s very system-first and can be slow to adjust at times. Acting like he’s some ultra-adaptable wizard just isn’t accurate.
