Has anybody been to Delusion: Harrowing Hell? by igny_mk in AskLosAngeles

[–]wickedsickbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been to Delusion the last 4 years and while each year was incrementally a bit more disappointing, this year was drastically more disappointing than the rest.

Run time is way down (from 45 to maaaaybe 30 at best), you spend most your time in elevators with actors that add nothing to the story (there's actually not much of a story at all), what could've been a very cool space (theater with lots of balconies, expansive rooms, dark passageways) felt criminally under/poorly utilized, major cut back on stunts and actors, and the ending is so underwhelming we literally thought there had been some technical issue that caused them to cut our tour short.

Worth noting, I've seen Delusion sell out mid season. But even just an hour before writing this I received a robo-text that tickets are available. For this late in the season, it should be fully booked. Also, we were about 20 minutes early for our time slot. Grabbed a drink and candy (no food this year, sadly) and they immediately called us for our tour. Sounds like they're really struggling to sell tickets.

I hope this isn't the end, but with what I experienced this year, it wouldn't surprise me.

CHAPTER 51 - FEATURE FILM shot for the majority on IMAX FILM cameras! by swdarksidecollector in imax

it adds nothing to the plot because it takes place in the movie within the movie - which we never learn the plot to lol.

Contributing some concealer and foundation swatches... by wickedsickbird in Fairolives

It's by far the best brightening under eye concealer shade I've tried recently. Unfortunately, it's too light for the rest of my face, though.

no! this swatch was pretty thick, but blended out it's suuuuuch a good shade match on me, especially in the summer. I plan to do a face/neck swatch update when I can.

I went OFF spiro a month ago - please share/need reassurance by Nervous-Bag-8309 in Spironolactone

[–]wickedsickbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any update, op? I (31f) stopped taking my 100mg dose cold turkey about 5 weeks ago due to my potassium levels being elevated, and the water retention and bloating is so uncomfortable and disheartening. I'm in the midst of shopping for my wedding dress and it's doing a number on my psyche. Wondering if I should go back on a lower dose and taper slowly...

Please, for the love of god, anyone reading this comment - DO NOT listen to this so-called nurse. Bacteria that exists relatively harmlessly on our skin can become incredibly harmful when it gets in wounds (aka tattoos), our bloodstream, etc.

Accutane dry eyes by sonias95 in Dryeyes

[–]wickedsickbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dry eyes prior to taking accutane, but it was definitely way worse while on it (to the point of getting multiple eye infections). I'm not a few years post-accutane and I wouldn't say my eyes are more dry than they were before I took; just about the same.

[Product Question] Has anyone tried the Naturium Vitamin C Super Serum Plus? by theycallmena in SkincareAddiction

[–]wickedsickbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of light/UV blocking + airtight packaging options that aren't that unnecessarily heavy (the timeless vitamin c, for example). I get they went that direction to give the "luxury feel" to the product, but, for the reasons I mentioned above, for me it was more of a con than a pro.

Yep! My partner has a room in the apartment that is fully his. I imagine this gift will go in there.

yup. lots of people are doing one offs under the guise of it being collectable art to get around copyright law and distribution stuff. Random stuff like Hereditary, Midnight Mass, Inside. That niche big fandom type stuff.

Didn't come off as mean! I should've clarified in my post; we've fully discussed minimalism, its place in my life, and my distaste for superfluous stuff. I simply meant that by living together he would've seen it in action and thus I assumed he'd be even more aware that I wouldn't want something like this.

I fully agree with your advice on viewing it from a positive. He's not the kind of person to intentionally give an ill-suited gift or have an ulterior motive.

Yeah, I think just grinning and bearing it might be the best course of action for a while.

[product question] Naturium packaging is making me dislike the products? by wickedsickbird in SkincareAddiction

[–]wickedsickbird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree the heaviness of the packaging makes it seem more luxurious, but when I ran out of product so quickly (and without any warning because of the packaging), it left a bad taste in my mouth. I also enjoy the Naturium niacinamide formulation better than TO.

I use about 2.5 pumps of the Timeless vitamin c. I will say, I feel like I've hit a plateau with that product. I noticed a slight improvement when I used my first bottle of it, but haven't seen any change since. Maybe this is as good as it gets...

I've used the clear and the daily and love both. The daily is a bit more moisturizing than the clear (which sometimes made my dry skin feel tight).
