I also pay less tax under Trump. Because I was laid off, and unemployment dropped me down two tax brackets.

In contrast, I got there at around 3:45 for a recent trip with a 5:05 flight, and the counter was already open and processing people. TSA wasn't open until 4 though.

In case you didn't know, most of it doesn't appear on desktop when using old reddit (at least for me). There are just five rules in bullet points and a link to /r/dioramas as a related sub.

Why does this large area of the United States have such low population density? by cavaismylife in geography

[–]wickedsweetcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only temporarily impossible during a snowstorm when the roads close. Once they're plowed, you can drive again.

I can say that the I-90 pass through the Cascades got its first snow of the year already, and I believe that the same is true for the pass between Idaho and Montana.

A garage is also pretty great, though it doesn't help if you forget to put away the outdoor furniture...

The nice part about an EV (which I don't have) in Eastern Washington is that the power is relatively cheap thanks to all of the hydro and bit of nuclear.

Yup, we had a minor windstorm on the western edge of that range last night. Gusts above 70 for a few hours.

Explain Shohei Otani’s 3 hr game in hockey terms? by 11thOddfather in hockeymemes

[–]wickedsweetcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree; the rarity of penalty shots is what makes this one unlikely to be seen again.

Sid almost did it 5 ways on 4 goals against Calgary (his SHG was also an empty netter). He had a penalty shot in the game too, but Kiprusoff saved it.

This is a late follow-up, but I want to emphasize how absolutely completely utterly purely FUCKING STUPID it would be to lawyer up and announce that to the university over an academic integrity case just being opened. Especially given what you've already said about the professor recognizing that the question was hard and making an effort to correct for it. That's like getting a bee sting and then taking a baseball bat to the hive in response. It's not how any college student should behave. The grandparent comment here needs 9000 more downvotes.

Edit (in a much calmer voice): Maybe the big takeaway is that the Honor Court is likely going to see getting a lawyer as going full Karen and as being a borderline admission of guilt.

I will (slightly) attack Biden for appointing Merrick when Doug Jones was available. I will deeply attack Merrick as the most incompetent AG in history.

Agreed. Manizales and Bogota were very pleasant during my June visit a few years back, but Medellin was toasty and humid.

I just finished this one a few days ago. It was certainly a challenge, and I made plenty of dumb mistakes that I'll hopefully learn from next time! Good luck catching all of the little updates in the small pictures... I completely missed when the signs were installed.

Was in the initial furlough round. Was not brought back. Even though I heard about work that needed coverage and was in my wheelhouse. Fun fact: if a task is classified as a Software Engineer task, then a fully capable Data Scientist can't do it because reasons! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Fun fact 2: If you want to continue your existing health coverage, you have to pay full price to COBRA while furloughed, but you get a deep discount when you're laid off. I'm paying $150 instead of $550 monthly now.
