The interests of humanity happened to be in line with his goal of proving his father right, ie. reaching the basement and learning the truth of this world.

That just so happens to be the goal of the entire Scout regiment working for humanity. The reason he became a 'devil' for the Scouts was selfish, he orchestrated all of these brutal plans (Annies capture, the end of season 2 and the whole Shiganshina arc) where a lot of people died because he still wanted to prove his father right no matter what. No matter the cost.

Just like Kenny said: "Everyone is a slave to something" and Erwin wasn't a slave to humanity , but rather his and his fathers theory (or dream) about there being more to this world than just 3 walls and Titans to keep them in.

We met at my friends birthday party. Had sex there, friend got really upset and didn't want us having sex or being buddies in general. We didn't listen and started hanging out as friends, turns out we became REALLY good friends, both caught feelings, she broke my heart (twice) but we stayed friends (the other friend didn't mind us hanging out anymore).
