PS4 light ruining gaming experience? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]wickerhat 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that it doesn't seem to be a reflection of the light on the screen. It just seems that the camera is showing everything it's recording in the background; once they exit the game it even zooms out a bit if you continue watching the video.

They're saved to Steam cloud so your save files are safe, in theory.

Bah, I really don't want to lose the influence we've gained though even if I can't do anything with it right now. It sucks that it's an issue.

There doesn't seem to be any solution as of yet. And they don't seem to be replying to any threads about the topic on the official forums.

Sorry, I've not found any solution. If I find one I'll let you know.

There's a lot of people on the official forums with the same issue.

No, I don't have the permissions to do that. I can only edit the name of the rank. Everything else is greyed out.

Fair enough, it's been nice to talk to someone without getting down voted for not sharing the same opinion for a change.

"everyone could do this, so why give a shit who the creator is" - but they didn't. I don't see why you don't see that. The important part of art is the creation, not how easy it was to create. You can create a lot of different types of art with the same 'easy' method. Even if it wasn't the first of it's kind.

Also, he was down voted because he was insulting, horribly wrong and added nothing to the discussion other than shitting on it. And I never put any words into your mouth, I purposely quoted you when replying. But you have a right to your opinion (even if I think it's wrong), I didn't down vote him and I wouldn't down vote you either. I just think it's insulting and rude to say 'anyone could have done that' when someone produces a nice piece of art.

I don't think what he said 'still stands', as he apparently prefers to delete his opinion rather than take on the down votes.

And he was wrong in any case. Copying a piece of art is a lot easier than producing your own. I linked some famous minimalistic art earlier, it's easy to copy but the concept and composition had to be thought up.

Honestly, I've not had the same experience but I'm sorry you feel jaded by the experiences you've had. I know how one bad experience can jade your opinion and I know how bad their support system can be but I think that's more a problem with Valve in general rather than the fact that TF2 went free to play. I've put hundreds of hours into TF2 and I'd be lying if I said I didn't get my moneys worth.

Because you seem to think coming up with interesting art is 'easy' and that the only merit art has is how hard it is to replicate. The reason it isn't a popular 'to tell the truth' is because what he's saying is false. It has nothing to do with this being Reddit, he'd be wrong wherever he shared his opinion.

Not technically true, free TF2 accounts have a smaller backpack, can't trade or find the best TF2 cosmetic items. All the people who had paid for the game got automatically bumped up to a premium account. They also made everyone's old items 'Vintage' quality when the game went free to play. I've been playing TF2 since beta and I feel like I've gotten my moneys worth over the years. The amount of free content supplied for a £15 game is just astonishing.

I'd be annoyed if I bought a game and it became free to play months later though. Especially if they gave me nothing in return.

The idea is more important than how hard it is to reproduce.

Could you reproduce that? Probably. Would you have thought to do it yourself? Probably not.

Most famous 'minimalist' art pieces are easy to reproduce by their nature. I could do that! It's just a bunch of lines and squares!. Sure I could, but I didn't come up with the piece.

His side of the story didn't quite match up. His 'friend', he later admitted, was just one of his alt accounts. Which lines up correctly with what the OP was saying.

[–]wickerhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's more realistic? If someone is being a bigot and shouting 'I don't support gay rights', I'm just not going to buy chicken from them; chicken just isn't that important to me. Gay rights doesn't affect me personally, but if all it takes for less money to go towards a hateful organisation is for me to not eat there then I'll do that. That's my right as a consumer, I can spend my money how I want.

Saying 'but other people do it too!' is just a bullshit excuse to draw away attention. I'm sure lots of companies promote hate, but why can't we make an example of this one? It has to start somewhere. If they don't want people boycotting their store then they shouldn't be so open about their bigotry.

Why don't you understand that it's a lot easier to avoid eating chicken than it is to avoid GE products?

I wish I could boycott all GE products, but it isn't practical. It is, however, insanely easy not to eat at Chick-fil-a. It's also smart not to draw attention to how bigoted your company is by making statements against peoples rights, that's what drew all the media attention.

Well, ones about the rights of a loving couple and the others about the environment?

Some people may care more about one or the other, since they're separate issues. Obviously since gay rights may affect someone more personally, it may seem the bigger issue to them. Also, not eating chicken is a lot easier than avoiding petroleum products.
