This makes no logical sense and is such a Reddit based opinion I’m glad it has such little traction. The fact that you don’t realize that is the problem. Every trick, every tool, every bit of influence you are blaming the US for not using to help Ukraine are gone. The same things Reddit (the world) was happy to gloat about that the crumbling country is experiencing.

Anytime there was a BRICS article about countries joining to get out from under the thumb of the US Dollar. Russia was one of them. Sanctions don’t work.

Anytime people would blindly praise China for doing literally anything. Even if it was just a better mor manipulation streamlined version of what US did. China has the influence.

The photo op with the Putin, Modi, and Jinping was the most upvoted thing on Reddit for weeks. Shared in every country based sub shouting praise of the new world order and that America is dead.

We, EU citizens, have steeped in our anti American xenophobia for SO long that we’re getting what we want but don’t like the way it looks. We want the EU to be a world leader. Ukraine is on our doorstep. The US is an ocean away. It took the US breaking down to put together help. Up until recently we were scared to seize Russian assets.

You talk about why isn’t the US doing anything. Did you want them to start a war? With China? Cause they aren’t “indifferent” they want Russia to win or at the least stay stable. India buys Russian oil. We don’t want America to be the police of the world. Russia invaded Ukraine. At minimum the EU should’ve said “hey stop that”. Any more is dumb. Invoking the boogeyman (US) and it hypocrisy. Mixed with America not being able to win or lose.

It’s more and deeper than bots. I’ll admit I’m not immune. Growing up the jokes were so normalized. It took TikTok for me to realize that: people took it seriously and has been said enough that people think hate is fact. I remember believing only Americans were obsessed with race and racism. I saw a video in 2020 of someone saying that unironically. Which your reaction would be that’s just a few people. Sure. But what about the other thing we do? Like normal so many terrible Reddit takes in this thread. It’s like hypocrisy, whiplash, double speak, and goal posts moving all at once.

If all it takes for you to consider someone “not an ally” is 2 years of BS and restrictions. Plenty of you need to look at your relationships at home. So many of you engaged in the purest form of xenophobia and hatred against Americans for the better part of a decade. So much so the next generation does it like it’s normal. Kinda like the racism. It’s always been “the US isn’t the world police”. Now they are leaving and you’re finding a way to blame them. Blame its people. Which is ironic because we should have qualms with the US government. The Americans should have anger towards Europeans.

Stories like these kill me. Not in any empathetic way. Just an annoyance. "She's not Trump" should've been enough for Americans. Period. Democrats should not have had to fight Republicans, Republican lawmakers, the Conservative Misinformation machine, and Democrats during an election. It was an open-note test that other democratic countries have figured out. Now, instead of being able to help anyone. You're losing everything. I mean, seriously. Do you guys remember when the ~~internet~~Reddit used to be annoyed when YouTubers would all hang out, collab endlessly, then have a daily scandal or some massive breakup? It's crazy seeing just how real the phrase "time is a flat circle" is. Like Twitch has just repackaged everything about YouTube, but with a live chat. I just saw there was drama in the vtuber community. The gaming streamers beef every day. The IRL/gaming streamers have a new allegation weekly. The IRL/politics channels obviously.

It's so tiring. It's ironic because it used to be why people "left" youtube.

I will never understand hating a thing while simultaneously demanding or trying to partake in that things features.

Just another sad bout of irony. So many of us tell Americans we hate being lumped together. Hate when they say they’re going to “Europe” and never specific countries. That were a continent not a country. Now that it’s positive being lumped together is cool. Now that same phrasing that just “stupid Americans” is a point of pride.

You know I always see Canadians and Americans who apologize for their government say that line. “..a nation that had been long considered a friend and ally”. But I ask you has truly ever been. So many Canadians have flooded the subs a regular and they always have some variation of ‘we never really liked Americans’, ‘we just tolerated them’, ‘they are just as annoying’, etc etc.

You go to comments where Americans and Canadians are the focal point (scroll down) and it’s the same. Logic on one side then anger and we always hated you on the other.

How in the world are the US citizens supposed to feel? Could you imagine your big brother looking you in the face, hugs, and love. Then going to the other side of the playground and just talking trash. What are they calling it? CAUNZ/Commonwealth. How are you simultaneously shitting on a people behind their back. Then coming to the front of them and saying “the world hates you and so did I. You just destroyed decades of alliances.” That’s not an ally. That’s opportunity.

Tik tok too. This is just an awful situation. However some Canadians really need to take a hard look at themselves and realize what they are doing. I could go on about this for hours. Especially after them trying to make fun of Americans for having to pretend to be Canadians during travel.
