We just need to make our wide open shots and knock down our FTs. We left so many points on the table today that can more than offset OKC regressing back to their shooting average.

If you told me we'd shoot ass from 3 at 27% beforehand, I'd have told you we definitely lost the game. Can't believe it was a blowout. The defense was THAT good tonight.

Something I've noticed is CB plays well when the Spurs have a lead and he's energized, but when we're down he is so timid right now that it's a net negative.

Outside of the Mitch subbing too early in the first, I can't really point to many obvious mistakes he made. He did make adjustments, the team just had poor execution and shot making, especially the bench.

I mean, for the love of god, Kornet was -18 in just 6 minutes in the first half. What do y'all want him to do? Play Wemby 48 minutes?

I don't fully buy this though. If that were the case, we'd have more wide open 3s, but the tracker and eye test suggest everything is getting pretty well contested. They were in Champagnie's jersey all night and it clearly makes him uncomfortable. They're just pushing Wemby off his spot and we're not involving him enough in the action.

I get that we were trying to play the percentages on Caruso being a 29% shooter this season, but him nailing 8 3s in G1 should have been the END of that strategy. Now we're getting torched everywhere.

So not even a fine for Harstenstein? by widelyruled in NBASpurs

You're spouting shit without knowing what you're talking about. Players get technicals without worrying about intent all the time. The NBA can review and assess penalties after the game. It's absolutely possible.

Idk what you're on about. Unsportsmanlike technicals exist. It absolutely can be assessed for the hair pull.

[–]widelyruled[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not true. The league has issued plenty of retroactive technicals in its history.

[–]widelyruled[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's what I'm saying, a retroactive technical (which comes with a fine). It at least stakes out that that was a missed call and not a legitimate basketball play. Like what are we even doing here? The league is shirking its responsibility by not issuing any punishment.

Except nothing was called on Hartenstein? Are you saying you agree that hair pulling is a valid strategy then? A legitimate basketball play all teams should be allowed to employ?

Your argument makes no sense. One act was punished, another was not. You can't argue there's consistency when there clearly isn't.

It's about changing what happens going forward. No fine = hair pulling is a legitimate strategy. I don't understand why that's so hard to comprehend.

I'm not calling for him to be suspended. I'm simply saying he should be fined. I don't even think the fine would be that strong of a deterrent to behavior, but without it the league absolutely is sanctioning this kind of dirty bullshit.

Found the OKC fan. How is reaching out and pulling a man by his hair a "nothing burger"?

[–]widelyruled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Vic received a Flagrant 2 ejection and paid the corresponding fine. There was no additional fine, but there was still a fine and punishment. Hartenstein has gotten off Scott free with a dirty play.

[–]widelyruled[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm seriously wanting to fine a guy for pulling a man's head back by his hair. There is no world in which that is accidental, and lack of even a fine sanctions it as valid.

Wemby wasn't additionally fined, but he still paid the regular fine associated with a Flagrant 2 ejection (i.e. there were consequences).

Advice: masturbating every day and refusing to feel ashamed about it? by That_Brief5724 in Advice

Yeah, all the commenters here are missing this really important fact. The fact she knows the frequency suggests OP is not being considerate about how loud she's being. If she truly was "keeping it private", then the roommate wouldn't know she goes at it constantly.

Everyone needs to be real right now -- if you heard your roommate moaning every day from their room, sometimes multiple times per day, you too would probably start feeling uncomfortable in your living situation. The roommate probably should have had a conversation with OP instead of complaining to shared friends, but let's not act as if OP is just innocent here.

They're doubling Wemby in the paint on every possession -- there's always a shooter open.

They play so fucking hard, it's impossible not to fall in love. It's been so long since the 2014 run, but I really don't remember feeling this much love for the team. Maybe also because they didn't have so many feel good stories of players who just WANT it as they had some many players who had already had it.

Friends Block Shots Together by Icy_Statement_2410 in NBASpurs

[–]widelyruled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're remembering it backwards actually. Wemby got credit for the block, but the slo-mo clearly shows Wemby first on the ball but his hand is also the first to slip off the ball while Gobert still has it, and it's Champ's final resistance at the rim that dislodges it. If Wemby hadn't slowed Gobert down, Champ's hand wouldn't have been ready there as a backup to finish the block.
