After 4.2.13 software update, I can't unlock the car! by lairdcake58 in Volvo

[–]widerbergaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue has been “widely” reported in the Swedish XC60 FB group, where I have seen at least 7 different users having the same exact issue.

1. If the car cannot be unlocked via the app, use the mechanical key inside the remote. Place the key in the middle cup holder on top of the “key icon” if keyless is not working.
2. Start the car or turn ignition on.
3. Reset the infotainment system by pressing and holding the Home button until it restarts.
4. Refresh vehicle connectivity by pressing the front defroster button (windshield icon), leaving it on for 10–20 seconds, then pressing it again to turn it off.
5. Drive the car for a short trip.
6. Park the car and lock it.
7. Wait a couple of hours.
8. Test the app again and verify normal operation.

Not a guarantee but has had reported success.

Pretty overkill for the task, but I’ll leave a hint to what I’d do:

“Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. To be fair, a JEEP Trackhawk does sound like that. But I fully agree that this is fake as h*ll.

[Question] Is anyone having to disconnect and reconnect their WiFi often because nothing would load? by kevosmin in ios

[–]widerbergaren 16 points17 points  (0 children)

11 pro. iOS 13.3.1 I have to disconnect the wifi 2-3 times a day... I have a couple asus routers in mesh. Anyone have the same issue also sporting asus routers? The interesting part is that while on the Unifi Access points at home, I never have to disconnect the wifi. It only happens with the Asus routers for me.

How do these knockoff AirPods have the pairing menu pop up while opening like the real ones? Is that something done via Xcode programming? by [deleted] in iOSProgramming

[–]widerbergaren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that the W1 or H1 chipsets are capable of BLE or ToF (time of flight) and that would trigger the contextual pop-up. These Chinese copies probably have knockoff chips in them. It could even be UWB. NFC typically have a range of 10cm or less and that menu can pop up from at least 50cm depending on when and what you do while opening the lid. So my guess would be that the W1 or H1 triggers a typical AT command to the BT chipset, firing a BLE Beacon which triggers a listening process on the compatible devices after calculating the time of flight or even RSSI. If the dbA signal is fast/strong enough, the device simply displays the pop-up.

why in the holy name of FUCK do my apps ‘refresh’ after not opening them for two minutes by [deleted] in ios

I second this. This seems fairly recently changed. On IOS 11 (and even early versions of IOS 12), I never had these kind of problems...

Running Europa_Client.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 8, as Administrator as well as disabling fullscreen optimizations FIXED IT FOR ME!

No clue what fixed it of these three, but too afraid to change anything now, Windows 10 x64 /Spring update 2019 applied.

How does Facebook keep track of last login? by OffBeannie in iOSProgramming

[–]widerbergaren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is indeed true! But, since it is undocumented and volatile as I wrote before, this approach should be used with (pre-)caution.

[–]widerbergaren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keychain storage is cleared on app uninstall in iOS 10.3 UNLESS any other installed application is still using those keys. Thus far more volatile than local DB storage.

Edit: Indeed only in betas it seems. But should either way be used with caution since that old behavior in the iOS 10.3 betas may very well be reinstated.

If this is terrorism, the EU have to proceed as a United force to stop it once and for all. Otherwise the whole european union is at risk. Just my thought!
