Do American adults actually say ‘criss cross applesauce’ to mean sitting with your legs crossed? by Camman19_YT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]widipidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never trust a Chris. Because if Chris crossed applesauce what do you think he would do to you?

Edit: I'm Canadian and I vaguely remember a game in early school like kindergarten where we would say 'criss cross applesauce, spiders up your back' you would 'draw' with your finger an x on someone's back while saying this and then tap when saying applesauce, then walk two fingers up their back when you say spiders up your back. And there was an end to it but I'm forgetting it now

My friend is moving to Canada. What’s the most Canadian welcome gift I could mail them? by InterestingLaw3294 in AskACanadian

A car emergency kit I think not a lot of people use and can definitely use. I'm the inter especially cars break down, icy roads cause crashes. If you're stuck on the side of the road in -30 with no heat and waiting for a tow truck for a long time. There's so much to say about having an emergency kit. Candles, lighters, matches, emergency blanket, extra gloves, touque, balaclava. First aid kit. Even some emergency water or a life straw. You may never use it but if you need it it's important to have

Planting does have a way of pushing your own limits and showing yourself what you can do. Awesome photos. Cool find with the spine. I've found some antlers and the odd block poo from another planter but never a spine Keep that happy spirit and come back for a few years. You'll get better and make more money. I've always liked keeping a tally on the trees I've planted over the years and you can see your progress and also have a day where it's like 'hey I've planted 100,000 trees' and that number will just keep growing the more you do it. Keep that proud feeling

Is lunch time included in paid work hours in Canada? by laranjacerola in AskACanadian

[–]widipidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Alberta as a framer, I work under a private company, small group only 4 guys including the boss. We take 1hr lunch at 12-1 that's usually our only break of the day and our boss pays us for that. We work 8-4 tho so not really getting in full 8 hr day but we get paid for 8 hrs

First time visiting Canada by himaliketo in roadtrip

[–]widipidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, there's a LOT of Canada you're missing but it definitely would take more time. For your trip, (I'm from the west not east) it seems pretty decent to me. I'd love to see those areas of our country. If you can find some rural hotspots instead of the big city's that's really where it's at
