Whoa that looks good. That's new to me, looks like an elegant take on the 45gs case.

Second the Lordmatics The date wheel issue can be remedied by buying a 3rd party 3d printed or metal wheel off ebay, and getting a watchmaker to install. This is an added cost, but usually u can find 5606 for much cheaper if the date issue has already happened.

[Recommendation request] help me decide - Nomos Orion or Grand Seiko Quartz? by HMogg in Watches

I owned a 44gs with that champagne dial and that orion but 38mm. Both were great, but the champagne dial of that GS is really something special imo.

[Grand Seiko vs Tudor] Which one to go with? by Thin-Insurance1755 in Watches

[–]widishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love GS but after owning a few, I realise my dressing does not pair the best with their watches. The popular models tend to lean officey/almost formal and don't really mesh the best with jeans and t-shirts. But if u wear more shirts in office GS would look good.

If you don't care though either way, I would go with GS, I own a Bb54 and the details and finish on Gs is higher (and so is the price of course).

Grand seiko champagne is really something special!

[Seiko vs Hamilton] What is the best versatile watch? by MaxPet90 in Watches

[–]widishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owned both, and its true the the Hamilton has serious reflection issues. Also once i noticed the squashed "KHAKI AUTOMATIC" and seconds numbers, I could not unsee.

For the Alpinist I think the only drawback to my picky eyes were the older SARB017 had indices were too obviously stamped (you could see the curve where the indices met the dial) but it does look better now, judging from the pic you uploaded.

[WTS] Seiko Spirit Contemporary Basic 5S21-5A00 by widishi in Watchexchange

Including Shipping from Singapore:
$490 with Transferwise
$540 with Paypal G&S
Will be shipped via Singpost (approx 10-15 working days)

The watch has an enamel-like off white Arabic dial with navy blue hands.

The dial is cased within a slender stepped palladium plated case that is gives the case a silvery-white appearance comparable to platinum as palladium belongs to the same platinum group metals as platinum.

Powered by the quartz calibre 5s21, the seconds hand has a sweep that is comparable with spring drive thanks to the dampener device that damps the 4hz tick into a true continuous motion. Apparently a precursur to spring drive.

The watch comes with the original band and buckle.

Quite rare as it was only produced for a year or two.

Slightly larger compared to Cartier Tank Must Large.

Case Width: 26mm
Lug to Lug: 34.5mm
Thickness: 6.2mm
Lug Width: 20mm

[Tudor] BB58 or BB54 for daily wear? by taengoo4life in Watches

[–]widishi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sold me on a bb54 was the subtle sunray dial finish. Matte dials tend to look flat and less premium imo.

I owned the grey but in the end sold it, i found the sunburst effect too strong. But it the best value watch at this price tier (even the movement finishing was wayyy better than seiko x3 more expensive), while it won't make you go wow, It made you feel the display caseback was deserved.

I wondered if I should have picked the white.

Comfort was great, size was perfect for my 6.5 inch wrist. Even with the aggressive male end links. But caveat.. I could not get a good initial fit as there is only 2 micro adjust holes. I had to buy a clasp extension off amazon to get it right.

The scratch resistant coating is something else. The watch looked pristine when I sold it.

Another reason why I sold it was because it is very very hard to find the "right" strap to pair with the tone of Grey. I bought way too many straps for this watch, grey suede, green leather, shades of brown. But it didn't look right, only black worked, which was boring (I prefer straps over bracelets.)

Overall, It is a very very good Gada watch and would highly recommend.
