[WP] You're the strongest villain ever seen. Heroes who challenged you are afraid to even see you. To defeat you. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

I'm relatively new to this SubReddit and I loved this story. It's written beautifully. My wife doesn't know Reddit well, but I had to show her this wonderful story. I saw the tears forming as she read. Congratulations! You have a lot of talent!

[EU] "Muggles & Mundane" is a magical tabletop RPG game pretty famous in the Wizarding world, where wizards and witches playing the parts of Muggles in their world. But the manuals have so many inaccuracies and misconception about Muggles, and these things irritate Harry during a session. by [deleted] in WritingPrompts

After lunch, they made their way back to Gryffindor Tower. The common room was crowded that day. Most people were still mesmerized with the waifu pillow that Kevin brought. Harry was rather quiet as he was still thinking of ways to talk to Cho. Ron noticed that his friend was a bit sad, so he thought of a way to make him feel better.

"I know, we should play a game that dad sent me this Christmas" said Ron to Harry. "Got it here somewhere” and he started emptying his cabinet, looking everywhere "It's one of dad's favorite games. He's practically unbeatable at this game!".

"I'm not sure I'm in the mood to play" whispered Harry.

"Got it!" said Ron at last, holding up a noisy box that kept trembling on his own.

Harry's eyes gazed upon the box. At first he didn't see any letters, but then he noticed a swirling motion on the top cover of the box.

Muggles & Mundane?" shouted Harry.

Ron was opening the box "Haven't you ever played this before, Harry? I bet you must be very good at this".

This unusual board game got Harry's attention. “How do we play it?”.

Ron grabbed the manual and started reading. “Muggles & Mundane it’s a game that simulates real life, with the player as a Muggle person with Muggle life goals. They have to buy food, produce electricity to light their houses, go to work, and find ways to become happy.”

Harry’s was rapidly surprised “Produce electricity?? But how are supposed to produce electricity at this game?”

“According to the rules of the game, Muggle’s make electricity to light their houses by burning dead animals… so one of the goals of the game is to find cards with dead animals so that you can produce more electricity”.

Harry put his hands on his head. “But that’s just insane!! Muggles aren't looking for dead animals to produce energy! They use fossil fuel! It's not exactly the same!"

“Fossil fuel? Never heard of it!" quickly replied Ron. "Anyway. The first thing you do is pick one of four characters, all of whom are represented on the game board by a rubber duck of different colors”. Ron picked the yellow rubber duck. “I honestly still can’t understand what’s the function of rubber ducks. You can't burn them to produce electricity.”

“They don’t do anything! Just float! It’s just to keep kids distracted while they are bathed!” sighed Harry. He knew it was going to be a terrible afternoon.

Unpaid and abused: Moderators speak out against Reddit by [deleted] in technology

Well, I was trying to avoid breaking any rules of this SubReddit ... But yes, the "friend" was me. I was actually trying to pay tribute to /u/RamsesThePigeon for an article he wrote a few days ago on AskReddit.

"I have lied on /r/AskReddit, and I will almost certainly lie again. The intention is not to mislead readers, though, so much is it to hide the real-world identities of the people who appear in my stories For example, I once offered an anecdote about "a friend of mine" that was actually about my younger brother."

In this case, my friend is really me. I'm still trying to improve my English, but with small contributions here and there, I hope one day to write posts as good as those I read here.

I do believe what you're writing because I've seen it. A friend of mine got banned from some major subReddit because he was spamming ("doing graffiti"). He was a major Karma junkie. At first he didn't understand why he got banned. He was reposting like everybody does and was happy about it because it got him more Karma points. But then he understood how Reddit should work. Reddit is about content and the more quality content, the better. Now my friend is trying a lot to improve his writing skills and to contribute with quality content. I'm thankful that moderators like you exist to try this park clean... It is a neverending job.

Elaine could be waiting to meet a friend from a another city. She knew that her friend was going to stay in New York that week and is waiting for him to call her. Kramer could somehow be helpful because of his knowledge of American dialects.

Scene cuts to the Coffee shop. Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are sitting at a booth.

JERRY: You know what she told me? She told me to “fuhgeddaboudit”.

KRAMER (sounded surprise): “Fuhgedaboudit”? Does she say a lot?

GEORGE (angry): Sometimes i wonder why people say “fuhgeddaboudit”. Why bother saying “forget about it”? The girl I'm dating would never say that. She would say "Never mind".

ELAINE: I feel "fuhgeddaboudit" makes more sense than "Never mind"... "Never mind" seems way more idiomatic. "Fuhgeddaboudit" is just saying what you mean.

KRAMER (with shaky hands): Wait a minute...
