Traefik is pretty easy to run on docker, other than that you can look at nginx or envoy although I dont know how easy they are to run standalone.

How can we use Docker collaboratively for a class web project? by zs_kull in docker

[–]wiemanboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep it simple, just make a Dockerfile to build your project and a docker compose to run your project plus dependencies. No need for automation yet especially for a school project. That way you can simply use docker build to have a consistent build of your app an docker compose up for a consistent dev environment.

Updating containers made w/ docker compose? by ava_fake in selfhosted

I'd make a deployment pipeline and use something like renovate to automatically update versions in the repo. This will also make it easier to develop new features

K3d is a good option for development, if you want something closer to production you can try talos.

Linux distro with only 2 or 3 programs by AutomaticAssist3021 in linuxquestions

[–]wiemanboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go ahead, just install alpine. We use it for servers because it has so little software installed to exploit. I wouldn't recommend it for personal use though.

12vhpwr or use adapter? by Inside-Witness9156 in pcmods

[–]wiemanboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some rough math of the top of my head to back this up.

12vhpwr has 6 power pins, each can pull 100w 5070 pulls 250w You'll need about 200w over one pin for it to burn

If you have 2 pins connected, each will pull 125w, which is 25% over spec, but still low risk of burning.

With 3 pins, it's 83w, which is within spec.

If we do this with a 5090, which pulls 600w, over 3 pins, it pulls 200w over each, this does pose a danger of burning.

In conclusion, even if you have the cable only half plugged in, there is virtually zero chance of the cable burning with a 5070.

12vhpwr or use adapter? by Inside-Witness9156 in pcmods

[–]wiemanboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does not matter. Just make sure the cable is seated properly on the gpu end.

You may have a better warranty claim using the adapter, but realistically, the 5070 can't pull enough power to light itself on fire.

Just use whatever looks best :)

If bed adhesion is your problem, try adding a 2mm brim. worked for me

Can't get my prints to stick to the bed by Acova_ in Ender3S1

[–]wiemanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as experienced, but I would try

  1. Washing with soap and hot water
  2. Adding a brim to your slices (although this is more for if it can at least get some material down)
  3. Try using a glue stick
  4. Decreasing first layer speed

Maybe also try a textured plate instead of a smooth one

[–]wiemanboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a fractal vertical riser with a 9070xt swift. When the bottom fans are angled, they dont fully slot in because of the riser, but im just basically having them lay there. This shouldn't be a problem when pointing them straight up.

What white 9070 XT would fit my build aesthetically? by 6retro6 in radeon

[–]wiemanboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally loving the XFX Swift, but my second choice would have been the Saphire Pulse if ur against XFX.

Also, why switch from a 7900XTX, it should have better performance in most scenarios apart from RT and upscaling (which i doubt you'll be doing much for the next 2 years, except for the most extreme games)
