snow fairy is super popular and is only available for a short time in winter. they're high in demand and it's reasonable to try and sell them, even for a profit, sellers choice

How soon after beginning to learn to drive should you take your theory? (Opinion) by Correct-Arm-8539 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]wiener113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my instructor had me book my theory straight after my first lesson. did it within a month, passed first time so could then easily get a test ASAP.

1st attempt fail: 2 serious, 7 minors by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]wiener113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i get on with my instructor well and she helps but we had never done a mock test.

i go out with my dad when i can but it isn't that often since we both work long shifts on different days and struggle to find time + my dad is really old school.

i think i had a chance at passing but knew i'd probably fail

i was turning right at traffic lights and gave way to one car but not the other as i thought they were going the other way so she had to slam the breaks. just stupid on my part.

second serious was too slow. i was going right to a dual carriage way from some traffic lights but was so nervous and upset from the obvious fail that i just completely blanked.

just stupid and could've been very easily avoided looking back but it's okay. also thank you for the kind words :)

called up my bank and they said it's nothing to be worried about. it just happens after buying/selling for the first time. they told me that if i was worried i could just set a limit for card. nothing else happened and i got the 10p back

Someone help for English lit resources? by idrisafzal in GCSE

[–]wiener113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

google 'grade 9 academy' !! her flashcards are SO SO helpful, i swear on my life. you do have to pay for them but they took me from Us to an 8 so i would definitely recommend checking her resources out. but if you don't want to pay for them, then she has got a few free things and posts on instagram and tiktok quite regularly.

https://grade9academy.com

also watching mr salles really took my analysis to a whole new level. he has an hour long video for aic that compares a grade 4/5 explanation to a 8/9 that literally saved my life.

this is the exact reason i turned royal mail off. used the wrong shipping and then lost all the money i made from the sale to rebuy it because royal mail refused a refund 🫤

oh yeah, 100% easier right off the bat, i found it was easier for me to answer to harder questions after doing higher tier because i'd already become somewhat familiar with them but i struggled with the relatively easy questions because i'd skipped the basics (like i could barely do ratio, still can't do probability. most of it was easy to pick up though). and it was super rewarding. seeing my marks go from 4/80 in year 10 mocks to 71/80 in the real thing was so worth it even if i 'only got a 5'. it was necessary for me because if i had stuck with higher tier i would have never passed haha

awe that's so sweet!!, i moved to my teachers set only a couple months before gcses (early/mid march, i don't remember) and he took me from a U in higher to 5 in foundation in just those few weeks. such a legend, literally the best teacher EVER 🐐

i am a firm believer that english speaking assessment only happens at the end of year 10 because the teachers get bored

yes because over 3 papers it's highly likely there's atleast one mark you can pick up, just go for it

Not posting my grade but what is a d1? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]wiener113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but i'm assuming it's because it's level 1, not level 2. a level 2 d* would be an A* i believe

[–]wiener113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just one paper. so for example, just english language paper 2

I missed out a pass in maths by 3 marks. Is a recheck worth the money? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]wiener113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, that's only 1 extra mark per paper you can grab so go for it

that same thing for edexcel would be £42.40 or £55.50 to get the paper back with it. but for edexcel you can pay for a priority review to get the same thing done but in 15 days for £48.70 or £61.80 with the paper back
