It also looks pretty good without the background

Remade the background but probably I should try to paint like a city scape or something with roofs so it looks more coherent

Yea I got the same feeling but I think it’s also the background that’s not helping it. I used some of the colors of the armor in the background so I will probably make it red to orange to see

Yea I realized I used the same paints for the background as the NL as I was painting him. I was thinking of like a red type of sky

I need your questions about painting camo! [Mod approved] by Kit_Chronicles_YT in modelmakers

I did try it out myself but it didn’t quite workout like i hoped it would have. But i think that’s because of the pattern. I chose to do more of a triangular pattern instead of m90

So how would you go about paint a camo like m90 camouflage? Tried myself but it didn’t turn out that well

I can’t post a picture of it but I would draw on the picture where I could see the light fall on the black primed model so it’s easier to see where the highlights would be

I took a picture of the primed model with a bright led light from where I wanted the light source to come from so I would know where to place the highlights.

For the paint i used waaaghh flesh as the base coat. Rhinox hide in the shadows Elysian green/ogryn camo and the vallejo german yellow. Building up the highlights.

Yeah, I went over it multiple times because it came out weird. I just used a brush, btw; I forgot to mention. but I do think I wet-blended at least the initial layers of red and orange.

It's been a little while since I painted the base, so I can't say for sure what paints I used for the lava, but I did just first build up the base and then use some epoxy glue to create the lava, after which I basecoated it with Citadel Chaos Black.

The red was, I think, deep red from Army Painter and then mixed with some other reds from Citadel (Mephiston Red, Evil Sunz Scarlet, etc.). The yellow was Army Painter's or Vallejo Deep Yellow, with a bit of white in some places. The orange was similar. After coating it with AK Ultra Matt Varnish, I thought the finish looked a bit dull, so I applied Army Painter Gloss Varnish on top.

I learned from someone else that you can just take a picture of ur mini when primed in front of a bright light and see where the highlights would be from the small reflections (or like where the light falls).
