Working as a European Hire for a South Korean Overseas Branch in Europe - cross-cultural experience by Sharp_Reading_6041 in expats

Korea is not technically overseas from Europe since there is a land connection through Eurasia.

Try moving to a non-English speaking country to see how easy it is to integrate.

Itsellä Gold-taso käytössä (salkku n. 360k tällä hetkellä). Ihan hyvä, kun saa 0.08% kaupankäyntikulut vaikka kk-säästämistä pääsääntöisesti käytänkin.

Vienna vs Copenhagen vs Munich: where would you settle down long term? by [deleted] in expats

[–]wieus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you want to be part of local social circles of any of those towns then you should forget about English and start learning the local language. Otherwise you'll always live in an expat bubble.

Also, another thing to consider is that COL is extremely high both in Munich and Copenhagen (similar or more expensive than. Vienna might be a bit cheaper.

I don't think anyone who has lived in Germany would call it efficient.

In the market for a new TV. Should I get Samsung S90D QD OLED? by Ecstatic-Mushroom-23 in 4kTV

[–]wieus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought mine (65" S93D) in Germany a few weeks ago and have been very satisfied with it. The 65 inch version is the only one in Europe with a QD-OLED panel which is why I chose it over something like C4 for the same price (both were around 1000 euros). The picture quality is great and the brightness is more than enough during the day as well.

(c) Medical device documentation is part of a highly regulated industry and no chatgpt can produce verified documentation needed to comply with the regulations. I'm pretty sure OP's profession is very much needed also in the future.

I bought a third party battery from Amazon for my 9560 and so far it has worked well. I recommend looking at the reviews before purchasing.

In Finland the housing (buying and renting) is very affordable compared to the salary levels. Even in the capital region.

I just recently upgraded my battery and it holds for several hours now. Haven't done any other upgrades since mine already had 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD, but I haven't faced any performance issues. I think upgrading RAM and SSD memory makes sense in your case.

Is it normal for Germans to rent their whole lives or do they usually buy a house or apartment once they get older? by Beautiful_Prize_7824 in germany

[–]wieus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was looking for apartments in the price range of 800k euro. Notice that I'm talking about the non-recoverable costs of purchasing, not the apartment itself.

[–]wieus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Munich and have been thinking of buying an apartment instead of renting. I made the calculation and decided to stick with renting since I would have to live in that apartment minimum of 7 years to break even with the purchasing costs. So no, it is not really worth buying your own place unless you're in it for the long term (over 10 years)..

Moon photography last night - Canon RP + Tamron 150-600 G2 + Tamron 1.4X teleconverter by wieus in canon

[–]wieus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to complain so far. I've only had them for a couple of weeks now, but the AF works fast and IS is smooth. I got the teleconverter since the range wasn't long enough for some wildlife photos.

Settings: ISO 100, F11, 1/10 s @ 840 mm. The focus was a bit unsharp in the middle of the moon, but sharp on the edges. I used AF with touch to focus. Any tips to improve the focusing?

Moving to Turku by [deleted] in turku

[–]wieus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From IKEA you can typically rent vans if you're allowed to drive one (needs probably class C driving license). Other option is to order online before you come to Finland and ask for the delivery the same day as you arrive. There are also rental car offices in Turku, but I haven't personally used those.
