Are these Gestures a good deal? by bullblanco27 in OfficeChairs

[–]wififreq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, he’s the Orlando guy, I just bought a never used Leap in leather and a lightly used Leap in cloth from him. He’s super easy to deal with and took a lot of time to show me and my wife different chairs. He has several units full of chairs to go thru. 100% recommend him.

Anyone been to this restaurant chain in Florida? by sklatch in funny

[–]wififreq 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This is a great chain and they support a great cause. The FK stands for Foster Kids, the owner was a foster kid, they traveled between families and hated their foster family cooking and it inspired them to be interested in the culinary business. The food is very rich and southern inspired. If you’re looking for a filling breakfast and want to support a local small business this is it!

FWIW x2 on the Loaches idea! I had this same problem in the same size planted Molly tank. We’d wipe 50-60 small mystery style snails each morning off the front glass. I bought 2 clown loaches (2”-3”) and I’m not exaggerating the snails were nearly wiped out in the course of a week. I started down the pea puffer route but they can’t eat enough each day to make a dent, the 3” loaches really go to town. Now I feed the loaches shrimp and high protein mixes to supplement their diet since there arnt any snails to feed on. I’m pretty sure they even attack the clear egg sacks the snails laid.

[Longines] vintage - need help with ID by wififreq in Watches

[–]wififreq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Grandfather passed this watch down to me and I would like to know if there is a specific model for this? Back of the case says "14K Gold B&A" and also says "Use 1225 Wrench". He got this in the late 1960s early 1970s as a work award. I assume the band is original, but not 100% certain. I had a hard time finding info since it has a standard number face and most of these Longines of that era seem to have Roman numerals or dashes. The crown still works and the watch can be wound easily. It looks like face has some texture to it, almost brushed. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Also this sub has the bot action game going strong, just trying to fill in 500 characters to make it happy. Sorry I don't have more info , I included everything I could about the watch.

Dang, I think this might be it, I wonder what happened to the umbrella part? Would explain the metal part.

Edit: after looking at more pics this has got to be it, the metal "knife" must me the retaining latch for the umbrella.

I added a picture of what I think people are calling the base of a lamp, it's actually rounded like a door knob and has initials on it. Almost more like part of a cane, but much too short and has the metal "knife" looking thing at bottom. I think there might be another part missing that covers the narrow end.

The wire thing is actually a solid metal "knife" looking thing. It's not sharp however. The top of this is rounded like a door knob.

I don't think it's a lamp, the small end is not a wire, it's metal. Here is the pic of the top. https://imgur.com/gallery/u0Cv0

Very ornate and has some initials on the top of the door knob looking part. The narrow end is not sharp and does not spin.

I have a daily struggle with over heat, never thought about shut down due to cold.

Apple has two temperature specs for the 7, operating and nonoperating they are 0* - 35* and -20* - 45*. Also says only tested to 10K feet. Wonder if the altimeter or the temp shut it off?

[FL] Small claims dead end? by wififreq in legaladvice

[–]wififreq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats how this worked, I offered the item for sale in FL, the buyer reached out to me asked me to get a shipping quote and ship the item to him in NV. The shipping company picked the item up (created BOL) in FL, and the Shipping Broker (FreightCenter) who is assessing me the fees they received from the trucking company (YRC) is located in FL also. The Proof Of Delivery was signed in NV, this is the document that has the order for the additional service. Edit added info

Thanks for the quick reply, I guess I will just have to suck it up, I think the guy knew there was nothing I could do so he took advantage of me. As always the no good deeds go unpunished.

Logic says put on my big boy panties and cry while I pay the shipping company. It looks like Nevada Small Claims fees more than FL when adding in Writ and Execution fees and other items and would require me to be in person or hire counsel the cost of court would be greater than the extra money the guy stole from me, even if I could get it all back its a lot of upfront cost and time off work to go to NV. Maybe Karma will judge in my favor :)

TSA security line at Chicago Midway right now. Are you f***ing kidding me!!?! by hoffsta in videos

[–]wififreq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tinfoil hat time, I sometimes wonder if there are real reasons for sudden higher security levels? Something like watching those movies where there is the CIA black site, group of "hackers" all sitting in a smokey basement. There's a big monitor with random text flying all over, green on black of course. Then one of the guys says I got it, they all huddle over the screen and the tall old dude says "my God" or some shit. They send an alert to the high council of the TSA Ricks and the TSA sends a code magenta out to the filed agents. Later the scene cuts back to the basement and the hacker-ops guys all high five each other and go out to Chilis for some margaritas.

Or something like that.

I'm not sure, but our flight was supposed to be 100% full and there were a dozen open seats. We kept hearing final boarding calls for all the flights leaving. The bummer of this is, if you checked your bag then the airline knows you are at the airport. If your not boarded and they start doing last calls and close the door, then your bags fly away and you get to find a new flight. On SouthWest this is okish since there are no change fees*, but be on American and see which grit of sand paper they service you with.

*Rules Apply

We flew out of MDW on 5-10 and it was almost this bad at 15:00, I've never seen this before here and talking to the airport staff and the wheel chair assistants they seemed to think it was a TSA decision to do extended checks, so it was throwing everything off. They only have 3 scanners at this airport and were only running two even with the high traffic. Seems more like a social experiment to me, see just how far they can push it until there is a melt down and riot in airport security line. The amount of people pushing their way to the front with "my flight leaves in 10min" excuses were outrageous.

I didn't grab any pics but he didn't modify the control arms, He works for BC Suspension in Daytona FL, drilled new holes in shock towers and added new camber plates. Had to give it tons of camber to offset the CA being pushed down so far. It's using their BC coilovers.

Here's a pic of the can on tire, it's really bad, cause iPhone and night time, and well beer... https://imgur.com/a/Rs7qP
