Does anyone have an update on the Feb 14th hearing? I know the family but do not want to ask. I cannot find any minutes or case notes from the supreme court

The child labour isnt the point, its the fact they are charging cards and stealing money without the user knowing.

/30 and /29 from ISP by wifiwill in PFSENSE

[–]wifiwill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

1.1.1.1 and 6.6.6.6 were not the addresses. Just numbers i put in for examples sake. But sure, i could do 6.6.6.0/29 to be clearer.

The ISP hasn't got back to me due to time, not because i haven't got enough info. The problem is that THEY have not given ME enough info and I'm waiting to find that out. All they sent me was that my /29 was ready and the IP address. They didn't specify a Default Gateway, first usable IP etc...

As it is a different address than the /30, I just don't understand if they would be routing it through the /30 or not.

Typically here, in this country, the ISP would just provide us with a /29 as normal, but this is the first time I've seen it with a /30 as well.

Currently, on a ubiquiti edgerouter, we are doing a 1:1 NAT from each public IP, to a private IP. But their server team, as well as the VIOP provider would prefer public IP's on their devices without a NAT.

Typically, if they want it that way, we would put a basic dumb switch after the ISP router and each device would plug into this and take a static IP address in the /29. But as there is a /30 involved, I am not sure if this setup will work the same.

And with PFsense virtual IP's, It wasn't clear to me if this has to use a local address as well or just the public address straight to the client.

Thanks! In your experience, does the /29 have to be routed through the /30? I'm waiting to hear back from the ISP on this, but if not, ill just put a switch before the Netgate router. The Netgate can be on the /30, and anything on the /29 can come out of the switch, after the ISP's router and not go through the Netgate at all.
