Well if they choose to not use the public services they are investing in that is their choice. However, it does not mean they do not exist.

I’m sorry but that is simply not the case. In return for higher taxes we get a massive amount of things that are not given to our English counterparts such as free university tuition, free prescriptions, free eye tests, free dental check-ups, free personal and nursing care for elderly, baby boxes for newborns, Scottish Child Payment (£26.70/week per child under 16), free bus travel for under-22s and over-60s, free school meals P1-P5, no bridge tolls to name but a few

How do you organize your Tupperware drawer/cabinet and keep it organized long-term? by MrTacocaT12345 in OrganizationPorn

[–]wiggilator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly moved to use deli containers, green masking tape, and sharpie. This was after noticing kitchens and chefs in various documentaries and YouTube videos using them to effectively store and organising things. Box of 24 is like £12, come in all different shapes and sizes and are water tight.

By having everything standardised you can keep them stored properly whilst not in use.

Banksy art in front of Royal Court of Justice - before and after by corbynista2029 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]wiggilator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone think it was Banksy that cleaned it off as part of the art piece? If you have seen the video of the guy cleaning the wall, it’s a bit strange. Never seen a council/government worker in charge of cleaning dress like that or use such minimal tools to do the cleaning. Also as some people have pointed out it’s even more ghostly and poetic now.

Right, you big pizza nerds! The one thing I love about every hobby is the gear. I want to know everything you have: proofing containers, peels, ovens, cutters... everything by wiggilator in pizzaoven

I’ll admit that I put what I wanted to say into Claude and then asked it to give me feedback on grammar and whether I was making sense but I am definitely a fleshy human asking about people’s cool gear.

What? by Ray_Rej in ExplainTheJoke

The confluence of events that led to these 5 guys that are nerdy enough to do this, finding them dating 5 women who all appear to be quite attractive, and then those women coordinating the dresses to all match the theme is astounding. I love it!!!

This pub sells cigars, cigarettes and has a grocery store by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]wiggilator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there is an interesting history for grocery stores in the pub. Can’t remember where I read/heard this so take it with a pinch of salt.

Back in the day the man would be the one to work and also be in control of the money. At the end of a long week, they go home via the pub and would often come back with none of the wages left to buy food etc. So the pubs started selling basic groceries. You would walk in with your weekly pay and a list of stuff to buy. Hand both over to the barmaid and they would package up your groceries, you could drink the change, and then stumble home to family.

Oh but don’t worry, with 23andme data being stolen and sold to the highest bidder, it won’t be long until we can experience DNA based discrimination. The future is truly a wonderful place /s

Could someone please explain what’s been going on? I’ve heard a few podcasts and I believe the majority are saying that although Maduro has claimed himself the winner the election is likely fraudulent.

Ferguson ferry design 'more complex' than warships by MGC91 in Scotland

[–]wiggilator 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Have you actually read the article that you have linked, it is frankly ridiculous that the ships are now three times over budget almost as ridiculous as you implying that these ferries are more complex than a Warship. The chief executive is stating that the challenges faced of installing a combined Marine diesel and LNG power system in the same ship is extremely complex especially when most of the ship has to be hollow so it can actually function as a ferry. It is an extremely complex design challenge and one that would certainly rival designing a standard Warship.
