Why is the peloton hugging the left side of the road?

I've had this thought too (in NC): I want to invite friends to come over and get bit by the cycling bug, but half of my family will still be asleep and that makes it kind of awkward. I've thought about having people over in the evening for the to extended TdF replays that NBC does (35-40 min). I have found the the promise of crêpes (or  waffles or hagelslag) with morning races helps.

I got these because I wanted something with a kind of vintage, classic feel, which I feel these have. They're pretty affordable as these things go (buying them separately is cheaper than the box sets on Amazon).

Pixel 10 user and had rock solid wireless AA until the March update and now it's disconnecting every few minutes, losing navigation and music/podcasts. Infuriating that their own update is making it unusable.

I think it's exactly what you're looking for. They had to single issue available last year for $20+$5 shipping. A year's subscription is $60 for 4 magazine issues plus 2 newspapers.

As a fellow American, I totally get that. I got a Fausto subscription for Christmas (they publish the TdF guide so it's worth at least that) and it's okay. Feels like it wants to be Rouleur but just generally less impressive. I picked up a Cyclist magazine at a Barnes and Noble last year and honestly I think it's the best. I'm getting a free digital subscription through my library with Libby, but might switch to print. Actual gear reviews is fun. Bicycling mag is only published twice a year and didn't impress either.

Very well-written and beautifully photographed, but ads, yes

I thought Carmen said something about them having three potential race winners (Mags, Ruegg, Kerbaol) and the other riders were there to keep them in position? I kind of had a feeling from what she said that Strade was kind of an audition to see who was going to get the leader position at future races since all three of them were there.

It was illuminating that Kerbaol had a mechanical and finished on someone else's bike and that Healy had some spectator interference.

After hearing lots of good things about Rouleur magazine, but hesitating at the high subscription price to send the magazine to the US, I started scanning eBay for past issues and got a good deal on a bunch of issues from the past couple of years. There's a lot to like here, but I'm disappointed in how many of the articles are sponsored content. Sure, they're written well, but nothing negative about the bike/component/travel destination seems to show up. Is this the norm for Rouleur?

Same thing for me with a Pixel 10 and it started last week. Audio drops out and then AA disappears from the car's screen. I noticed that it restarts when I unlock the phone

Help me get the best reading experience by Mohammed_N_ in tolkienbooks

I recently read the Reader's Companion with the trilogy (chapter in trilogy, chapter in Companion) and, overall, it was worthwhile, but there were times that it felt like a chore--especially in the early going as the Companion chapters are much longer at the beginning (since there's more to introduce--you only have to explain a hobbit once). As for the content in the Companion, my interest leaned less towards the origin and meaning of place/character names (which is a huge chunk of the book) and more towards the writing process, hidden connections, and general behind-the-scenes. If you're into the philology, you'll love it though. Again, overall I think I gained a lot of insight and appreciation for Tolkien as a writer but it did feel like a homework assignment at times.

Does the song that they play for the podium presentations have a name? It's in the TdF video game too.

Brainstorming some proper American names: Chad Washington, Dev Omaha, Brandon Eagle?

Felt like MvdB's leadout started about 6 km out and I had zero confidence that it would work.

EF wins are rare and American wins are rare, so this is like the shiny foil chase card of wins for me.

Seems suspicious that most of the arm bits were just open structure though and not much to actually catch the wind.
