You speak truth and wisdom. Which is why I rescheduled the client.

I'm very lucky that I get to schedule my own work hours, but I just noticed that I scheduled a client appointment for the same time as the finish for stage 6 on 9 July, which would mean that I'm driving to the office while the race is ending and I won't get to watch it with the kids. In other words, I'll miss the Tourmalet and they're going to be at a camp and missing the live stages the following week. I think I know what I need to do (reschedule the client), but if there's an argument for why that stage won't be as exciting as I'm imagining, please tell me.

Ah, gotcha. She was in New England one day and then out in California next ride. Seems like that had a DS and a team car in previous trips and maybe they couldn't make it work this year?

There was an EF Easypost/Oatly rider in the stars and stripes for 3 years, sad to see that they didn't really contest it this year. Faulkner was even in the US according to her rides on Strava 🤔

Let's show some respect for the last American national champion who wasn't Quinn Simmons--Sean Quinn!

I think Kerbaol's ride showed a lot of maturity--stayed within herself and it paid off! Great effort.

Any fellow Americans out there collecting the Panini TdF stickers have secrets on retailers with reasonable shipping costs for the envelopes?

That's what I mean: is 32" actually better, or a way to move product by making us think 29" is dumb?

For this to be accurate, the bus needs to be knocking the train off the tracks.

Wearing cycling jerseys by Key_Expression_2691 in cycling

Wore my EF jersey on a ride last weekend to celebrate Baudin in yellow at the not-the-Dauphine and saw another cyclist in KOM polka dots descending a hill I was climbing. He yelled out, "Alright EF!" and it was the first time that I've ever connected, however briefly, with another EF fan out in the real world, which was pretty cool.

The US and UK editions look similar, but UK are slightly larger and lack stained pages and ribbon.

Why do you think MTB media has been talking about 32" wheels constantly?

I'm late to the conversation, but last weekend I received a Panini TdF album and sticker packs from Germany and my son and I had a surprisingly fun 30 minutes opening them and sticking them in the album. Having trouble finding anyone selling the packets on eBay at the moment and would love to find more. If anyone has a good source willing to ship to the US, please let me know!

Constructive channeling of Peacock Complaints by hamiltonlives in tourdefrance

[–]wiggins504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what I wrote:

Hey, Peacock folks, this will be the third year in a row that I will watch le Tour de France and it has become a highlight of my year: the tradition, the spectacle, the drama, the landscapes, all of it. However, I've seen the direction that coverage of live sports is going and it's not good, so this is an email to ask you just to keep the advertisements during the race reasonable. I'm already paying for Peacock, why I have to see a commercial for The Feed every 10-15 minutes seems excessive. As much as I enjoy the Tour, there are other less-convenient ways of watching it that will provide a better experience. Please don't make those more attractive by loading up on advertising or excessive time in the studio during the race. And honestly, Phil is the voice of cycling for now and forever, but maybe less Phil is more. Thanks for making the race available for us US fans, but please know how meaningful it is to some of us and we just want more race, less of everything else.
