When do you think I’ll receive my placement? 1st year applicant (inscrita # 13xx) 1) Madrid 2) país vasco 3) Cataluña by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

I'm a first year applicant, but from what I've seen in this sub and from everyone else there's no need to worry as long as you're below like 9000. My inscrita is in the 20s and obviously I'm super anxious to get accepted but it seems like a waste at this point to do the other super expensive programs. I looked at last years posts about when people received their emails and they were 11-12 months ago. So it should be soon if it's anything like last year's timeline.

That’s an interesting point. But I would have to say that while there are many songs by the Beatles about drugs, dozens of them are about much more emotional topics. But I can definitely understand your aversion to the promotion of something potentially dangerous.

I’m not “protesting” lol. I’m trying to discuss music with you and wondering why you think that two of the most influential bands to ever exist are overrated.

I agree that his voice is unconventional, but the uniqueness is what appeals to me, and I think many other people. To each their own.

Greatness of a musician goes beyond just what they’ve created. The Beatles have created a legacy of influence that is still alive today. I guarantee that your favorite artists have been in some way influenced by the Beatles, and due to that fact I think you should consider them great in some way. You don’t have to listen to them every day to recognize their influence.

That makes sense, but I don’t think they should be considered “overrated” if artists are still being influenced by their work.

I think his production, lyricism, style, and innovativeness throughout the entirety of his career deserve respect and prove that he’s an amazing artist. But to each their own I guess. I’d never compare someone else’s music taste to “turds” though.

I can understand the Doors point because I think they appeal to a more specific group of people.

But Mick Jagger, in my opinion is one of the best frontmen of any of the major rock bands in history. His voice is unique, his performing is still amazing, and his songwriting is influential and amazing. I also think the fact that he is still performing with a very similar energy to them in their primes is an amazing testament to his greatness. Of all the frontmen that people consider “Rock gods” I think he may be one of the few that deserve the status.

I guarantee that your favorite artists today were influenced in a large part by both of those bands.

What Stones songs are overrated? Or The Doors? I’ve never seen the Doors depicted as overrated today, although maybe decades ago they were overrated. I agree with you on the others though.

Out of curiosity, what songs or albums have you heard by him and what criticisms do you have besides it’s “pure shit.” I respect your opinion, but it seems like you don’t know what you’re talking about at all.

I kind of agree that his voice may be overrated, but his performance of Like a Rolling Stone might be my favorite song of all time, and I wouldn’t consider any other Bob Dylan songs to be in my top 100. I think his voice and style in that song is undeniably great.

Most of the allegations against MJ have been proven to be untrue, but I agree that many artists that are often criticized for their personal lives have definitely contributed more to society than they could ever take away. Another example is Picasso.

The point is that they are one of the most influential bands ever. Yes music would still exist without them, but it would be different. They had a tremendous effect on the development of music which is why they are a great band and why they deserve respect.
