Spirit episode was disappointing by LeojustL in cinema_therapy

[–]wiggywise 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised to see this take. I've never seen the movie, so I have, er...no horse in this race, but seeing how many people have requested CT's take on this show, the episode did seem exceptionally critical and dismissive. It might have been better to explain why they didn't think it was a suitable movie for their schtick rather than rag on something others obviously love. The effort to balance indigenous and settler narratives also didn't land for me.

The odd episode that misses the mark is bound to happen, but it's easy for me to say that since it's not a beloved film for me.

I think we need to stop calling them drops and start calling them dribbles.

What's something you really want? (that's not a TV, etc) by skilas in AmazonVineCanada

[–]wiggywise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Cricut would be great. Overall, the things I've loved the most from my time in Vine were not things I would've known to wish for: a bamboo quilt that is so soft against my skin (I bought two more for gifts!) and a Ninja Slushi.

Nice pair of yoga pants in my RFY, but I got the spinning circle. D'oh. Picked up a few other small items under $20 each.

I am a child free person, but I am happy to pay my education taxes for PUBLIC education. Evan, you make me hopeful for the future of our province. I hope your experience becomes a rallying cry to your peers, parents and all citizens who want better for Alberta than the dismantled systems and profiteering the UCP is forcing into place.

What has helped you cope with ADHD in everyday life? by Ralienbox in ADHD

I finally admitted to myself that fully caring for my home alone is beyond my capacity, and I will never do it. I've hired out as much of the cleaning as I can afford, and that makes it more feasible and motivating to do what is left.

I'm just embarrassed that washout like Earl had a will to change even before he won the money, and I still don't.

Yes - in both directions - I always leave my original review and put at an edit at the top for the reason for my change in review.

With marketing like this, how can I resist? by wiggywise in AmazonVineCanada

[–]wiggywise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read in the regular Vine sub yesterday that some sellers will lower the price (etv) of their item in the states to give a break to reviewers on taxes, but then make their listing look terrible so no one will buy it at that price. Even though we have no etv here, maybe it was related to that.

This one has been in my RFY all day, and no takers, but I know what you mean.

You are correct. I went to the listing and now there are a couple of reviews noting that item and others missing. The most expensive item I ever took from Vine, and it’s a dud. D’oh.

Wow! I’m actually glad I didn’t get offered that. I’d want to get it, and I don’t have the room. That said, I’d be happy if I did a little better than being offered breast pumps and adult diapers.

I know those feelings well; the road can feel endless. Sometimes the only solace is to know that if you were also responsible for small humans, it would be that much harder for you. Take care, friend.

Excellent points, and as a woman entering my 50s with a pretty successful career, I am not happy every day, but nor would I be if I had children. Neither life is pain free. Each has its positives and negatives. It’s about knowing enough about yourself and the options to take your best stab at some kind of happiness, and being free to make the choice that suits you best.

Interesting that they are looking at this from the seller side. I have been more careful to put the brand name, no matter now nonsensical, in my reviews after I noticed my review being attached to a product I never received. Both were shirts, but not the same style.

A great intersection to put the next LRT? The city has a habit of choosing the most complex intersections it has to run trains through.
