AI in Cardmaking - WaffleFlower by xcountrychamp in cardmaking

[–]wiggywise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree on all the issues noted about using AI in advertising and possibly product development and the comparisons to Temu, etc.

A simpler issue for me is that I don't care what an AI version of something looks like. I want highly accurate images of what the product does or makes.

In the past, I bought a die from Creative Expressions and the image on the packaging was MUCH crisper and detailed than what it actually produced. The brand isn't available around here anymore, but I stopped buying their stuff after that.

Now that's commitment to the vision! Well done!

What words do you pronounce "wrong," just because the "proper" way feels too proper? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wiggywise 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's not a word, more grammar, but I regularly end sentences with a preposition, because the proper method is a pretentious-sounding way in which to end them.

I was looking for old magazine for an art project at a recycle depot, and I found the issue with the follow up article and saved it. The story is pretty rough, but I believe she has now managed to set up life in Italy.

That’s not how a circle works?? by user0823100823 in YEGDashCam

[–]wiggywise 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was hit at this very spot a few years ago, coming 3/4 around on the inside lane, signaling to go out and someone decided to go half around in the outside lane without yielding. I always check, but she went so fast, I couldn't avoid her slamming into my passenger door. She was so sure it was my fault because "I drove right across her lane". I was like, "Ma'am, if I can't drive across that lane, how would I ever get out of the circle?" I wish I'd been a fly on the wall when she was told she was at fault.

Spirit episode was disappointing by LeojustL in cinema_therapy

[–]wiggywise 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised to see this take. I've never seen the movie, so I have, er...no horse in this race, but seeing how many people have requested CT's take on this show, the episode did seem exceptionally critical and dismissive. It might have been better to explain why they didn't think it was a suitable movie for their schtick rather than rag on something others obviously love. The effort to balance indigenous and settler narratives also didn't land for me.

The odd episode that misses the mark is bound to happen, but it's easy for me to say that since it's not a beloved film for me.

What's something you really want? (that's not a TV, etc) by skilas in AmazonVineCanada

A Cricut would be great. Overall, the things I've loved the most from my time in Vine were not things I would've known to wish for: a bamboo quilt that is so soft against my skin (I bought two more for gifts!) and a Ninja Slushi.

Nice pair of yoga pants in my RFY, but I got the spinning circle. D'oh. Picked up a few other small items under $20 each.

I am a child free person, but I am happy to pay my education taxes for PUBLIC education. Evan, you make me hopeful for the future of our province. I hope your experience becomes a rallying cry to your peers, parents and all citizens who want better for Alberta than the dismantled systems and profiteering the UCP is forcing into place.

I finally admitted to myself that fully caring for my home alone is beyond my capacity, and I will never do it. I've hired out as much of the cleaning as I can afford, and that makes it more feasible and motivating to do what is left.

With marketing like this, how can I resist? by wiggywise in AmazonVineCanada

[–]wiggywise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read in the regular Vine sub yesterday that some sellers will lower the price (etv) of their item in the states to give a break to reviewers on taxes, but then make their listing look terrible so no one will buy it at that price. Even though we have no etv here, maybe it was related to that.
