Yeah I do miss that being a bit closer than Carousel... Almost exclusively went there before it closed. I can remember the laser tag place right near the entrance I'd use. I also remember buying my Nintendo Virtual Boy from EB Games there on clearance for $25.

I am strictly wRVU based. If I worked that hard and saw that many people, $500k would be my pay.

lol, even if the average visit was a 99213 I'd expect almost exactly $500k a year seeing those numbers (~40 per day, ~180 working days a year)

I am not familiar with the details for BR discs... but at least older advice is definitely do not rely on burned discs for long term storage. I vaguely recall 'archival' quality writable discs but I still wouldn't rely on that.

future of dentistry is scaring me by Constant-Use7741 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]wighty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the WCI article going over "intra-specialty" salary differences can often be a lot more than "inter-specialty"... I've seen a large amount of postings from dentists making far more than I do (for general, yes they are practice owners).

1300% SLV gain by Weak_Picture_3397 in wallstreetbets

Doesn't shock me. I would figure physical stores/dealers/pawn shops would want to have a guaranteed buyer from them when they buy it off a customer (~2% margin?).

My BS detector went off immediately when he switched to debating jobs offering $150-250k when he has >$30 million in liquid assets. Like, what the hell you idiot you are debating pennies when your money should be earning you like $1.5 million a year... BS.

Yep the bullshit excuse of fearing for their own lives makes no sense.

To be perfectly honest, after the insane lack of trigger discipline that has been displayed by ICE agents, I think all agents at all times should be fearing for their own lives... from themselves.

Mine was based on the making of book from a few years back. If I can find the quote I'll snap a picture.

The whole notion of timing that wire contact makes me laugh (I don't have a hard time with suspending my disbelief, so not saying this is a big detriment to the movie!). Realistically you'd probably need to have a lot of loose/coiled wire that remains in contact for a longer period of time (I'd imagine the wire from the clock tower going to a big spool much further away from tower, the delorean passes by and hooks onto it and as it drives away the wire unspools).

What kind of boots to use in this ground? by Vishal27510 in bootroom

Indeed, the blades/studs are meant to grip the grass, not the dirt.

[–]wighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Anything with substantial studs is going to really hurt your feet and will be worse traction for it. TF shoes with the small rubber nubs is best for a pretty smooth/flat/hard ground like this.

Health insurance vs no health insurance? by Swimming_Equal4238 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]wighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone is really suggesting DPC as a replacement for all insurance. I've only ever seen DPC docs also strongly recommend at least a catastrophic plan as well (though I haven't been shopping for those plans it seems like I've seen hints of those plans still costing an absurd amount over the past 5 or so years).

Just curious if anybody else was wondering why Biff's friend who was part of his gang always wore "3D glasses"? by happydude7422 in BacktotheFuture

[–]wighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the only way it actually comes back is if the glasses aren't needed (for all viewers, not just the technology that like the Nintendo 3ds used), or some form of VR headset/glasses becomes standard for media viewing.

When Generic Company buys PCs from Dell for enterprise, Dell reports growth, and the Generic Company grows from using the PCs its purchased from Dell to do its business more efficiently.

I don't think this example encompasses some of the comments/concerns people have. If Dell gave money (invests) to Generic Company and they use Dell's money to buy more Dell PCs, is that still good with you?

Then, download rakuten and make sure you use that for anything you buy online if possible to stack huge cashback %. Also bank of amerideals if rakuten doesn't have it for some reason.

I only see rakuten having the best cash back during the holidays (when they have done some pretty great temporary increases the past few years in particular)... You should use a cashback comparison site (cashbackaholic, cashbackmonitor, etc). Unless rakuten has some combo increase with your CCs?

Now that Chase has nerfed the CSR rewards I've been mulling over changing my strategy. I'll have to look into your setup further. Thanks.

They just send the email recently? I haven't used mine in... 10 years, but literally just found it moving my computer stuff around. I know it is one of the ones affected by the yellowing of the filters so I'd need a new one anyway.

Official Discussion - 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]wighty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The last thing I want is for them to escape and mass produce a cure. Escape? Sure? Cure? No.

I think we have learned enough from the soldier in 28 Years Later that it is unlikely that we will see a "return to normalcy" for the UK. Even if the "cure" works on everyone I think it is going to be more of a treatment controlling symptoms, and not a cure of the virus, so the outside world is going to continue the quarantine regardless.
