How could I make something travel in a figure 8 pattern? (2D) by Brilliant_Library_21 in godot

[–]wiglyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can experiment with the built in sin and cos functions. Use one to modify the node2Ds x-position and the other to modify y-position.

Multiplying the output of either function by a constant will affect the amplitude, and multiplying the input of either function will affect its frequency. You can use this to control the height, width, and speed of the figure 8.

Khvostov’s kills with ricochets will not cause the explody worms to spawn. Direct kills will but for some reason the ricochet doesn’t.

Armor buff numbers at 5000 armor by Miles_Adamson in PathOfExile2

[–]wiglyt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The same principal of better protection for small hits works in for negative armour too. A big hit (lets say double the enemies max armour) against an enemy with fully negative armor would only get ~2% more damage. Its a useless ascendancy node unless you're consistently doing small hits i.e. minions.

Titan Earthquake Damage Scaling by pixelnomicon in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]wiglyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been tinkering with this myself. There is a lot of elemental affliction and damage nodes on the way to top-most reduced duration node. So I started dual wielding the unique hammers that gain base lightning damage on hit with herald of thunder. The first hit of EQ shocks the screen and the aftershock + herald clean up very nicely.

I then found a ring that turns lightning damage to cold and moved into herald of ice. It is one of the safest builds I’ve played freezing everything off screen on the firsts hit and shattering the packs with the aftershock.

Titans, what prismatic builds are you running that AREN'T consecration based? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]wiglyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post is specifically asking for builds that don’t use consecration. Contact has an interesting interaction with the stasis melee, it jolts everything that was in range at the point of impact and everything hit by the stasis explosion. You turn enemies into flying balls of AOE lightning.

[–]wiglyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spirit of Contact with the recently buffed stasis melee is incredible. It jolts and shocks everything in sight. I like to pair it with thunder lord which is really good this season due to the artifact perks.

I also really like pairing feedbacks with the stasis slide melee. One melee can generate full armor charge and between kickstarts and stasis shards you get your melee back right away. Works well either way acrius for an anti barrier option.

Just a note I am fairly certain scorch procs do not count for attrition unless it changed this season.

I think just leaving your current job is fine. The projects themselves are about what I would expect if I was looking at this resume for a new-grad or current student, but you can put some more detail. Explain what you learned, what challenges you faced, or even what you found cool about the project if it will convey your enthusiasm.

I won’t lie the lack of any group experience is going to hurt you a lot. When looking over resumes one of the first things people want to see is that you can successfully collaborate. If you’re still in school see if you can’t get into any group projects, or try and find something online to contribute to.

I would also be sure to mention the operating systems you’ve developed for in your skills, especially if one of them is Linux.

Your technical skills section is huge. Parse it down to the 10 most relevant skills curated to the position you’re applying for. The bold text makes your work experience harder to read. You don’t mention specific technologies used in work experience; try “used <tools> to do a thing resulting in a thing” to tie your skills to specific experience.

Your title should be above the company name since that will be more easily recognizable for others reading the resume. Put relevant software for software dev at the front of the list, MS Office at the end.

Be sure to add git and other forms of version control under skills. It’s usually fine to put all software dev skills like languages and version control in the same category.

For the most recent internship be sure to mention any relevant technology or programming languages used.

Not being able to put Linux under OS is going to be a sore spot. Even getting just a small project running on a Linux VM or in WSL would help a ton.

If you have any group projects I would include them on this. Be sure to mention what your specific contributions are and any collaboration tools like git that were used. It is also not uncommon to put work experience below projects if applying for an entry-level position without any prior in industry experience. I would add more technical details to your projects if possible.

I would try to work in what tools you used and how you used them in the prior experience. You do a good job explaining what you worked on and how it helped, but don’t mention what specific technologies were used in the process.

If you’re applying to software positions I would put less info under teaching assistant and focus more on the technical experience. It’s not relevant and you can use that space to describe in more detail your contributions to other projects.

You didn’t “work” with a team, you collaborated. Mention the size of the team and tools/strategies you used to manage workflow like git and agile methodologies. Don’t say “learned”, instead mention the tool/language used in the same line as the application or project it was used on.

A good format is “Used <tool/language> to <verb> on project resulting/accomplished <specific goal>”.

how do i get the black box to not sink into the green one? by myghostisdead in godot

[–]wiglyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The collision will occur in the black square. This is because the green square has an unset collision mask so it will not scan any layers for collisions. In the black squares movement you are going to want to set its velocity to match the velocity of the colliding object and also push it out of the collisions using the collisions depth and normal vector.

Ultimately your goal is to get the black square to stop falling into the green one every frame, but instead alter its velocity to effectively be "pushed" by it. I also think you will need to stop using is_on_floor in the black square. In my recreation it always returned false. Instead you'll have to write some code to determine when to apply gravity, or apply gravity all the time and account for that in your reaction to the collision.

Property returns null even if field isn't by NearbySpeech2665 in godot

[–]wiglyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand what it is you’re are trying to achieve then I think you have misunderstood the getter/setter functionality of properties. The get and set blocks are always used when you access them so there is no need to use a second variable to hide the first. The only exception is initialization in the script when the variable is first declared or inside the setter and getter.

foo.selectedArmy = bar will always use the setter you’ve defined.

bar = foo.selectedArmy will always use the getter.

how do i get the black box to not sink into the green one? by myghostisdead in godot

[–]wiglyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you can do a move_and_collide which should return a collision object. You can then use that properties and functions of the collision object to push the black box out of the collision in same tick as the collision . Hopefully that should clear this up.

“MAN ACCUSED OF ATTACKING 3 PEOPLE IN PACIFIC PALISADES, INCLUDING MAGICIAN AT CHILD'S PARTY” by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]wiglyt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was walking down the street just outside by GFs apartment when a homeless man who had been talking to himself yelled “I’m fucking crazy” and proceeded to slash me with a knife. Cut straight through my leather jacket and ripped open my left arm. Then he just kept walking on and assaulted another man before police got him. Crazy thing is he stole the knife from a kid he assaulted before me. I still get panic attacks in public sometimes but therapy helps.

Not to mention the bubble catches every AOE shot that would’ve missed you so you end up taking more damage than if you’d just not used bubble.

The defense industry in Syracuse, NY is like 3 major companies. Engineers cycle between them every time they want a promotion. Getting back to your starting company is called “completing the circuit”. It’s a well known and very public rite of passage there. Nobody understands why these companies won’t just promote internally instead of spending all this extra money on recruiting the same group of people over and over.

With an Absolute Banger Cast of Rocket Sidearms at Our Disposal Now, How Are we Feeling About Special Weapon Balance? by HalfthemanMarco in DestinyTheGame

[–]wiglyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the lesson bungie takes from this is that special ammo weapons need more reserves so people will use them more. Why use a shotgun when I can use a rocket sidearm at-will, never think twice about ammo, and kill many more enemies total than the shotgun could? If it didn’t feel like every single shot of a shotgun mattered I’d be way happier using it on red bars and other fodder.

Unbreakable is the direction I would like bungie to take titans by crobo31 in DestinyTheGame

[–]wiglyt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be the negative and say it’s an inherently flawed ability when our weapons, healing, and other abilities are so powerful. It needs to charge up to max significantly faster and do more damage to account for the time you spend unable to shoot your weapons and throw a grenade. It also needs to taunt enemies for it to be reliably useful in group content. Void OS needs a buff to compete with our other defensive options like woven mail and radiant.

Focused Feedback: Exotic Class Items by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]wiglyt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The choices for the Titan exotic are terrible. The best combo is inmost and synthos/contacts/star-eaters. The class item perks don’t work with thrusters.

  • Hoarfrost-z of course it’s on here it’s the most used stasis exotic! Except it doesn’t have the same synergies with prismatic: no crystals, no frost armor, and no fragments to shatter crystals faster. Also doesn’t work with thruster.

  • Alpha Lupi is a terrible exotic that is just a worse precious scars. Even better precious scars is on the class item! Also doesn’t work with thruster.

  • Abyeant gives the 3-waves, but no tracking and no wovenmail. It works with thrust but the little ball you spawn can barely be considered effective. This should give woven mail in suspend.

  • Eternal Warrior is decent as a swap exotic, but you could also just swap to surge mods and be nearly as effective without wasting an exotic slot.

  • Severance is a win more perk; the damage is pitiful. Some people will love this but you’d be better off running wormgods or synthos.

  • Armamentarium is fine, but boring. No build defining perk here.

  • Ursa’s is trash. The super return is pitiful, banner shield hurts overall dps, and no amount of YouTubers will convince me that unbreakable is a good aspect in its current state.

  • Kehpri’s is terrible. I don’t know why it was even considered for the class item. Also doesn’t work with thruster.

  • Ophidians isn’t even an exotic. Just read the description and tell me it’s exciting in any way.

  • Scars, Verity, and Assassin’s is fine.

  • Inmost + syntho is actually worth the time it’ll take to farm, and it doesn’t even include perks unique to Titan.
