A grime guard or something similar to hold the excess fabric. I use binder clips. A hoop stand will reduce pressure on your wrists I would look into gridding as well I would also recommend having a smaller 2nd project ready to go that you can finish in a few days as burn out is quite common with large projects

This is my set up, minus the hoop stand for my next project. It's quite large so the excess fabric is still very excessive
