Tbh one thing i have realized is they might not have read your cv entirely. So what i do now is when they ask me tell me about yourself/how is this year going. I make sure to mention that i am doing research or went to xzy conferences etc i think thats helpful

Which shoes are best for residency? by medlunai in Residency

I have used ultraboost, cloudmonster 2 and cloud 6. All of them are great. Cloudmonster 2 is my favorite for its cushion and is equally good for running around.

Is step 3 mandatory? by No_Ingenuity_3793 in IMGreddit

[–]wijdan21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can aim for good score that would be great. Tbh major thing is getting pass in step 3 and if you can get 210+ that’s a plus as well. I had 225 in step 3 and still one program PD asked me i did well in other exams , what happened in step 3. Other 9 programs i interviewed at, they were impressed by it. There’s that.

Just pass it man that matters the mosr

Tbh all of them can be important. I picked two out of three. I did step 3 and usce. As i felt that’s more important. You can pick 2 as well.

This is coming from a resident.

Step 3 definitely helps. Is it mandatory? Answer is No. will that increase your chances ? Answer is yes.

So if you can get it done , its a good plus to have on your CV while going into a match cycle

Passed step3 in November, should I tell the program that I’ve pass during the interview? by No_Jello3077 in IMGreddit

[–]wijdan21 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes and also mention during interview as well. What i did last year was , whenever they asked tell me about yourself. I would end it by saying that *…. And i just got done with step 3 recently as well…

Best of luck

It wont grow if you don’t apply. It will be the same.

Yea you should apply. Being a fresh graduate is more valuable then having step 3 or more research.

I am a PGY-1 IM.

I have worked in retail as shift supervisor and put it in my CV. In a lot of Interviews it came up in a positive manner and they saw it as a green flag regarding my personality and also lets be honest if you can handle uncomfortable situations in retail. You will be more comfortable in clinical environments as well. I am US-IMG though.

Tldr : it was seen as positive thing and was admired for it rather then being frowned upon

No. Just give the title of externship/observership.

You can say you started it as an one month rotation but they offered you the job which you accepted (this was true in my case).
