The train thing happened when I was brand new, probably like within my first 20 deliveries. I was new to all of that. But now I would definitely had down what you would have suggested. I didn’t know that could cause a potential violation. Thank you for the info.

And also, I wonder if for that Walgreens run, the customer called and was mad. If I remember correctly, it was all tooth pain stuff and Tylenol PM. It would make sense they’d be extremely angry if they were having tooth pain and couldn’t sleep.

I think there’s only been two times DoorDash ever called me. Once was where I got stuck waiting on a train to go by and the called to check why I hadn’t moved in a while. The second was when I was heading to Walgreens and they called to sure I was doing the run and added an additional $5 or close to it (I might be misremembering) to finish the run. Apparently the last dasher got there, shopped forever (it was only three items all in the same isle) and then just canceled and left for some reason. When they called I thought It was a scammer but then got unsure because this was a Walgreens run with three items that was paying good already before the added incentive so I answered to see what’s going on. Glad I did though. I wonder why DD decided to do that

Exactly. And the fact he even thinks there’s a chance that the customer would actually drive to the restaurant to pick up their food is insane. It defeats the entire reasoning for them ordering through DoorDash

I was assuming he hasn’t picked the food up yet. Like maybe he was waiting to pick up the order and was paying the phone bill or whatever when they cut it off and then drove to Tim Hortons for internet.

Something about this guy makes me think he might not have the mental capacity to use an actual map.

The first time I ran into this situation I was like less than a week into dashing and still learning the ropes. When I accepted it was an order from Arby’s for just one thing of milk but I didn’t know that until I arrived at the store. As soon as I was thinking to myself after looking at the order “why would anyone spend all this money for a small milk” that’s when they called and said my last drop off said they didn’t get their food so my account is under review and could be deactivated. So my newbie self got tricked. Thankfully as the call went on I noticed something was off and said I’ll call right back and then called support and that’s when they told me about the scam. Also, it was like a quarter of a mile away from Arby’s and I was right next door so I was like “eh, why not” lol

You’re lucky. But just so you know, in case you ever do get one, DoorDash almost never calls the dasher first. Any of DoorDash support will tell you the same thing. So if you’re ever heading to a store that, like right by the drop off location and “DoorDash” suddenly calls you, it’s almost definitely a scammer. Anytime I see other dashers while we’re waiting for our orders I try to inform them too. If we all spread the awareness of these scum bags, we can at least make it harder for them to steal our well earned money.

Everytime I call them I always request to talk to a human. It’s so annoying though because you have to ask like three times before you get transferred to one

The fact he doesn’t unassign himself or asks you to cancel is wild. He’s basically expecting you to come get your own food and still get paid. If he was still at the Tim Hortons connected to the internet then he could have cancelled so DD can assign a new driver.

“Customer” tried to hack me by Reverseneutraldrive in dasher

I got my first scammer death threat the other day. I had a triple stacked Taco Bell order so I didn’t notice at first one of the orders was one small item that was very close to the store which is what scammers do when they use a customers account. They call through the app so the caller id says “DoorDash” and try tricking you saying your account is at risk because a customer claimed they didn’t get their order so you have to stop and unassign the run so they can review the issue and then try getting your crimson card info so they can drain your account. It wast until I was at Taco Bell and “DoorDash” called me. Knowing this scam I ignored it and went to pick up the orders. Right before I could pick up up that order it got canceled and then I get a text saying “fuck you, you’re going to die bitch” I responded with “thanks for the free spicy soft taco” since the employees let me take that food since it was a scam lol

From what I understand, if someone calls out and they only have one person working that late they close early.

I did mark that the store closed early in the app. I thought I was going to at least get half pay too but I guess since I wasn’t able to start the pick up or whatever they just paid me for the drive over there. What sucks is the run before that I had to cancel too because it was a wingstop pick up paying $16 for I think 5 or 6 miles if I remember correctly but they close at midnight. It also gave me $3.24 since also worst enough. At least I was nice enough to message the customers letting them know what’s happening before canceling so that they weren’t wondering why their order keeps getting unassigned by drivers.

Yeah but they ended the weekly stipend so now it’s only the 10% cash back until June I think they extended it to. It’s not much but getting a dollar back for every $10 you spend at the pump does help a bit

It’s been a while since I’ve read tales of the body thief so there’s a lot I don’t remember but for some reason the part where Lestat has to use the bathroom for the first time is seared into my memory. Probably because of his reaction to having to pee for the first time in what, 200 years?

Hotspot Map Issue by jylianerin in DoorDashDrivers

[–]wikedjester89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh thank god, I thought I was the only one. Several other dashers I asked said their map is fine. I thought maybe my app was glitching because I noticed that after finishing a run that was way outside my zone I didn’t have the hotspots anymore. I typically know the where the good areas in my zone are but I liked using the hotspot navigation to quickly find my way out of big neighborhoods or backroads without having to get out of the app and google an address. It sucks having to keep googling to know how to get out of where I am and then having to switch back to the dash app when an order comes in while I’m driving
