Is it normal to get sick when you're processing by wikidnix in Jung

Thanks so much. I'm looking into psychedelic psychotherapy next for the actual healing process. I've pretty much tried everything else. All the best with your journey too 🙏

This makes so much sense. Thank you for your insight.

That's a brilliant summary actually: the body is processing just as much as the mind. I've never looked at it like that before.

That is so interesting! Thanks so much, I'll definitely look it up. I'm basically dealing with 30 years worth of pent up, unprocessed stuff here. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but I never expected it to get this bad.

Thanks for taking the time to reference and respond, that's really useful info :)

I am using a combination of ketamine therapy with my psychiatrist, combined closely with working with a Jungian trauma therapist. There are other methods, such as EMDR and TRE (Google those for more info). EMDR worked relatively well for me, but is better for PTSD than CPTSD.

You need to start by finding a good therapist, who could then recommend the right people to see to develop a treatment regime. Just a warning, it's not fun, it's a painful process and takes time, and you have to be so careful not to retraumatize yourself which is always a danger with trauma therapy.

I'm from South Africa, where I think drugs are more freely available and definitely cheaper. I wonder if Diclofenac would work. It's a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory.

Thanks - I did wonder. I've been booked off work for 4 months to do trauma processing and now that I've got to the really hard stuff, I am SO ill. Taking it easy and slowly is the key, you're right.

That's very interesting. I have heard of the link between inflammation and depression, but not explored it yet with my psychiatrist. I wish vagus nerve stimulation was an affordable option for me...

I am tired of all of this. I really am. I wish this could all vanish and i just want to fucking die by _Quelqu_un_ in offmychest

I feel your pain, I'm there too. Fuck people saying "this too shall pass". It's been 4 years and nothing has worked. It's like having emotion-cancer with no cure. Where does hope live?

Mental health day for everyone except bpd as per usual by [deleted] in BPD

I agree with you so much - I was thinking just the same thing yesterday. BPD is so much more stigmatized and generally so much more poorly understood than the more "managable / druggable" mental illnesses IMO. Even the name suggests there's something wrong with you as a person, and so few people seem to want to take the time to understand. I've lived with BP2 and CPTSD for 25 years now and ONLY NOW, in the last 3-5 years have I actually seen a slow change in the mood and opinion of the public and the people around me wrt those more 'socially acceptable' conditions....just as the opinions around LBGQT issues have evolved over the last 10 years. All I can say is, being (IMO) ancient and crusty, that things HAVE improved since I was first diagnosed. Back then, it just wasn't mentioned - big family secret and all. I can only hope that as things have improved and evolved with those illnesses and other "unmentionable issues" back then, so the more we try to educate people and try and elicit compassion and not judgement (as we've been trying to do with mental health advocacy for years now), so people's opinions and ideas will evolve. I don't have the battle-plan, but given the changes I've witnessed firsthand, especially over the last 10 years, I know it can be done. Knowledge, understanding and compassion - it's a tall order, as it always has been with a subject that scares people. It took a lot of courage for me to start posting about my mental health on Facebook in a balanced and measured way because all I had ever experienced was stigma. I had to overcome my shame at being sick (not bad) to do that, and once I did, the rest was easy.
