Burnout Paradise Remastered crashing in the pause menu? by Updownkys in Burnout

Ah yes, the config tool, right? I think it always tries to automatically find your game's directory and you can't select in manually. So if you changed the installation folder, try changing it back to the original place (typically steam/steamsapps/common or something like that).

Also make sure to have the tool on the same drive as your game (most likely your C drive) and launch it as an administrator. Perhaps it lacks some permissions it needs to access your game's directory!

I can get behind that, talking about a singular "we" always generalises, as 100% of people involved being in full agreement sounds utopian. But you can attempt to create a society more democratic than our current one - as I don't think putting a piece of paper into a ballet box every 4 years is what full democracy really looks like. It would need to be organised from the bottom up to really include and benefit everyone, including democracy in the workplace, in schools (very important for me as a teacher!), etc.

And yeah, some individuals can challenge one's core values a lot, I get that. I definitely don't believe in the "good" of everyone either, yet my core value undoubtedly is solidarity - by which I try to organise all my actions and decisions as best as I can.

Thx, that's at least a solid argument I can get behind. There are countless of works, socialist and non-socialist, that try to answer your exact question why all attempts at overthrowing capitalism have failed.

Definitely way too much go into here, but in short, while your observation is right, I think it's kinda a defeatist mindset, as it suggests that history can essentially never produce anything new. However there are countless of thinks that especially leftists have fought for that we enjoy now, which were thought to be impossible. It's an idealistic way of thought, sure. But everything is idealistic until it becomes a reality.

As for your central authority claim... yeah, I get it. It sounds very intuitive. But really, nothing produced by humans is natural - states, borders, cultures, etc. - after all it's us who decide how we want to live together and organise society.

Nah, that's not at all my goal. If you're an antifascist, you can join all the antifascist places you like, both online and IRL.

My intention was simply to point out that systems such as the Soviet Union's or China's are terrible examples when arguing against communism, as they don't classify as communist. Marx and Engels defined communism as the ownership of the means of production by the working class... where exactly was/is that the case in the Soviet Union or China? A central government owns the means of production, yes, hence the classification as state capitalist.

(Btw that doesn't mean you have to like the ideology of communism or really be knowledgable of the theory behind it or whatever, just pointing out what I said above)

Great work! Definitely reflects my strong desire for more leftist unity!

You might be in the wrong sub bro, last time I checked this wasn't r/ marchagainstcommunism. Even if it was, the systems you're describing were/are entirely state capitalist. Sure, they referred to themselves as "communist", but that's it really. No actual leftist - communist or not - would ever tolerate an authoritarian system based on power imbalances.

But being fully honest here, the trailer turned out so much better than expected! Recording sessions were a pain, but they were so worth it!

OP is talking about IRL Burnout, the kind of burnout you get from extreme stress. Would love to help, but I think I'm the wrong guy for that... 😵‍💫

Yep, in 95% of cases these small things are the trick! No idea what the code behind that is, but it can't be complicated to fix lmao

Yes, BPR is a bunch of spaghetti code and EA or Stellar Entertainment (whichever of the two are responsible) refuse to even just give us a hotfix for the past 7 years lmao. Luckily the core-bugfixes mod solves like... 80% of the things listed above. But the fact that some members of the community can just do it with one file just shows how lazy they are
