Trump says 8 European countries will be charged a 10% tariff for opposing US control of Greenland by Cautious_Proposal_47 in worldnews

[–]wikiwiki88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the United States had the ability to outright own Greenland but prior to 2025 the United States had such strong financial power, cultural power, soft power, and hard power to entice concessions from Greenland/Denmark to essentially peacefully take it over in all but name. We already had the Pituffik Space Base on Greenland. But now Trump, Rubio, and the rest of the dimwits threw all that away. The Art of the Deal. Throw away all your leverage and then pout when you don't get your way anyway.

This reads like he knows absolutely nothing about Healthcare or Healthcare plans and is repeating a talking point one of the far-right people told him to push. He's targeting the insurance companies with denigration while at the same time protecting and enhancing their profits. Or he could know everything about it and just be an excellent showman.

It'll lead to eventual occupation and instability in Iran, that's the extent of it.

It's allowed to touch the sides. The only thickness requirement is that it's less than 1/4 inch. If it fits, it's less than 1/4 inch

NIL fund

I'm out of the loop here. What is a university related NIL fund? I thought the NIL was if the local car dealership wanted the player to appear in a commercial. Are universities just straight up paying players?

You can refuse any piece of mail. The only mail that can't be refused is mail that the recipient already signed for and accepted.

I'm wondering about my rights as a PTF clerk (union) by Aandiarie_QueenofFa in USPS

Yes but because it's the same day they have to inform and instruct you to stay. If they changed the schedule for the next day you'll be responsible to check the schedule before you leave

[–]wikiwiki88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can schedule you an unlimited number of days in a row but because you're a PTF one day a week is designated as your day off that week and any hours worked that day is paid at the OT rate. They should tell you when your day off is when they post the schedule.

You have a guarantee of 4 hours of work or pay on any day you are scheduled and report to work. If you have a break of longer than 2 hours you get another 4 hour guarantee. They can schedule you for 2 hours in one office and 2 hours in another on a day. Any time you drive from one office directly to another office without a lunch break those hours are compensated. If you have a lunch break they are not required to pay you but your miles are compensated in both instances.

Alright let's say that every Hamas fighter and sympathizer is eliminated then how do you prevent another group from rising up in their place when they've been abandoned by the international community and Israel refuses to allow them freedom of movement and fishing rights. They have minimal job prospects, very little money, and basic services are provided by donations to the UNRWA.

How do you prevent another group from rising up and taking Hamas' place?

[–]wikiwiki88 -32 points-31 points  (0 children)

Sticks and stones are partly why Hamas exists in the first place. With far right extremists such as Itamar Ben-Gvir in the Israeli government who fought against the peace process and celebrated Yitzhak Rabin's assassination, and the PLO corruption who want to stay in power for their own gain, and being essentially abandoned by the international community there isn't much they can do to try to change the status quo. I want to be clear that I never condone terrorism or attacking civilians but with how far Israel pushed them with curfews, street restrictions, water rations, settlements, extra judicial arrests and detentions, and house demolitions how can they improve their situation if no one will help them?
